My stay at this hotel, chosen for its ideal location, took an unexpected turn. I've been a regular guest here, and previous visits had been uneventful. However, this time was a nightmare.
During my stay, I discovered my bed was infested with bed bugs, and the repercussions were very bad. I quickly identified to reception the issue and requested a room change. I was met with skepticism, leaving me feeling the need to prove the existence. The hotel was fully booked, complicating my situation. I left for work, hoping my belongings would be relocated quickly.
Upon returning, I found myself in a different room on another floor, but my luggage was not in the new room. A phone call later, it was recovered (fingers crossed it wasn't left in the infested room).
My experience was worse after my departure day when I realized I'd suffered an allergic reaction to the bed bug bites, everywhere on my body, including my face.
Even after changing rooms, sleep was difficult due to doubts about bed cleanliness and the fear of unintentionally transporting these pests home.
In summary, my stay was stressful, and I cannot imagine returning. While I appreciate their effort to relocate me, it felt more like a legal obligation than genuine concern.
The manager's gesture of a stroopwafel and a note was appreciated, but did little to redeem the situation of encountering bed bugs and the initial skepticism at reception.
I cannot recommend this hotel to others and my colleagues
