"Stayed here May 2019 for our honeymoon it was perfection. We looked at other properties nearby for our anniversary trip May 2026, and decided to return. The Hyatt Regency made it absolutely spectacular to be back! Checkin, valet, bellman, the spa, the restaurants were all top notch. Can’t wait to come back for Christmas sometime soon."

"Don’t expect to have a cool, quiet place to lounge around after checking out before you leave for the airport. Construction in the main lobby. “Hospitality Suite”- a locker room with a shower. "

"We stayed at Grand Wailea in May 2026. Here's what we thought about it: Good: ---The grounds are gorgeous ---The pool was clever and lots of fun ---The staff was helpful Bad: ---Greed, greed, greed I've never been to a place that seemed so intent on extracting my last dollar from me so ardently. Here are some examples: ---Two pizzas from the take-out restaurant: $70 ---Required valet parking: $75 per day ---Renting a cabana for the day: starting at $650 ---Italian restaurant: hard to walk out without spending $100 There are others, but you get the point. This leaves aside things like the mandatory resort fee. Other reviewers have commented on the inability to get a spot by the pool. We came in low season, and we still didn't bother to try to find a place till 2PM. A big part of the problem is the space taken up by those ludicrously-price cabanas. If those vanished, I'm guessing they could add 25% to the number of pool chairs available. Bottom line: the place is gorgeous (though our room was pretty old and minimally furnished), and the pool is great fun. But unless you are willing to part with lots of money without worrying about it, don't come here. And I'm guessing high season crowding must be insane."
