"Wonderful location, you jump into the pool then jump into the ocean. Great bar/restaurant near the pool and a very large breakfast offered. Service was very good, and we will definitely come back. One thing to note. Laundry facilities is not offered even though listed. They have a laundry service for a high fee."

"I loved the rooftop bar which has spectacular views over Funchal and a great selection of drinks and light meals. Happy Hour was always a favourite!. The UVA restaurant is well worth a visit and offers a good price/quality ratio. The staff are efficient, cheerful and friendly. I have no real downers - may be the turn down service was earlier than expected but I'm nitpicking here."

"Our stay at the Pestana Carlton Madeira Ocean Resort Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism by the staff, who went out of their way to make us feel at home. The hotel’s location is perfect—just a short walk from Funchal’s charming center, yet peaceful and right on the ocean. The views from the rooms and terraces are breathtaking, especially at sunset. We particularly loved the choice of swimming pools: the large sea-water pool with direct access to the ocean was a highlight, while the indoor heated pool provided the perfect retreat in the evenings. Breakfast was outstanding with a wide variety of fresh fruits, pastries, and local specialties. Every meal we had at the hotel was beautifully presented and delicious, with attentive service to match. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, offering all the modern amenities while still maintaining a relaxed, island atmosphere. The beds were especially comfortable, ensuring we woke up refreshed each day. Food was good when everything in the area was closed down and my massage with Maria was out of this world book your spot ahead of time because it sells out very quickly. Upon arrival there’s no openings"
