The hotel is located within easy walking distance of cable cars, lots of great restaurants and access to the ocean. The property has lots of character, a great free breakfast and two pools with friendly and helpful staff. there is free parking as well which is a huge benefit as street parking is very limited.

Beautiful hotel by the ocean

Wonderful location, you jump into the pool then jump into the ocean. Great bar/restaurant near the pool and a very large breakfast offered. Service was very good, and we will definitely come back. One thing to note. Laundry facilities is not offered even though listed. They have a laundry service for a high fee.

Hotel Quinta da Penha de França was a quiet and quaint hotel. It was walkable to the main square with many restaurants nearby to choose from. The breakfast options were the best that we experienced in our 24 day trip in Portugal.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. It was only a 10 minute walk to the marina. We found the breakfast to be especially delicious with plenty of choices. The coffee was fabulous . Staff are very attentive, friendly, and helpful.

Breakfast buffet was very good, hotel staff could not be more accommodating. This is an older hotel but the ocean view from the patio was fantastic. Pool area was also very nice and well kept. Hotel is centrally located to downtown Funchal
