Fabulous Haveli
Fabulous Haveli really conveniently located near the lakes. Room was very clean and comfortable probably the best on our entire trip. Service was good and views from the terrace over the city and the moutains beyond were amazing.

Very nice 300 years old building converted boutique hotel on top of the hill. You can have a 360 view of the entire city and the lake on the rooftop where the bar/restaurant is. The room is decent size and updated. With stain glass that filter the light into colors. Staffs are very friendly food is decent

Perfect stay in Udaipur
The hotel is ideally located in the old town of Udaipur. The City Palace is in walking distance. We loved the interior design of the hotel and the rooftop restaurant: Best place to escape the hustle and bustle of the old town and watch the sunset.

The hotel is centrally located. Being centrally located, it is vulnerable to sound since I was able to experience religious propaganda being broadcast over a megaphone until 11pm at night. The hotel provided ear plugs, but it can only help so much when you just need some rest. The pictures on the website make it look much cleaner than it actually was. The food is basic, but I wish I was told there were crepes for breakfast since I only noticed it on the last day of my stay.

This a beautifully restored haveli in the old city. Access will need to be on foot or by auto rickshaw as the lanes are narrow, winding and steep. Not suitable for wheelchairs at all. There are steep steps in the building. The staff are helpful but I noted the safe in my room wasn't working and they weren't too bothered about getting it repaired. Also being asked if you want your room cleaned each day isn't acceptable. Assume it needs to be cleaned!! Other than that a lovely place well situated for Lal Ghat, Gangaur Ghat and Jagdish Mandir

Good choice, close to the tourist hot spots.Went elsewhere for menu variety. Feel more shade needed for daytime rooftop dining. Staff very attentive and responded to requests promptly.

Difficult to get to b/c in centre of old town
Difficult to get to as it is in the old town where cars cannot travel. It was about a 300m walk, with our suitcases, on very dirty narrow lanes (watch for animal excrement) to the haveli. The rooms were okay and clean. We had asked for quiet rooms, and were put across from a house construction site, so not so quiet. Also the toilet paper was difficult to attain! Hot water is available from 7-10am and 6-9pm, although they were accommodating outside these hours. A nice surprise was the rooftop terrace, although not much of a view of the lake. Great waiter, Harisingh, Good breakfast and dinner options. Personal laundry done through the hotel was maddening. Timing for the arrival of the clothes was changed 4 or 5 times. Still don't know why they couldn't give us a straight answer!! airport pickup and drop off is expensive.

The hotel manager (Shankay Singh) and reception staff (Abhay Singh) were very welcoming and helpful - even providing us with a box and liner for our posting of overweight items. The waiter (Shiv) who served us on 3 occasions was very eager to please. Room service was advertised but "not available" which meant that my unwell wife had no choice but to climb the stairs to the drafty, open rooftop restaurant for our meal.

Beautiful place with great staff and amazing food
Really great place to stay within easy waking distance of a vibrant market and two fascinating temples. The bed was very comfortable and we had an excellent shower. A safe for valuables, hairdryer, towels. Beautiful original heritage architecture in our room. The manager Shanker is a lovely man and the rooftop restaurant has great views of the old city. The food here is the best we ate in India; really good and our waiter Shiv Shanker helped us choose different Indian dishes to taste and was very charming. We had massages with Moneesha and her sister, great value and really good. Everything was great. Can’t recommend this place enough. Fabulous and I intend to go back again.

Warm and impeccable service. Well managed. Very good location, not first row to the lake but within a very short walking distance. Do not hesitate! Suite and mini suite are great.

Good hotel in old town
This is a good haveli hotel located right in the old town. It isn't as flashy as Chunda Palace or Udai Kothi and there is no pool. Also, since the hotel is in the old town a car can't drive right to the hotel entrance but its only a short walk from a larger street. Stay here if you are bit adventurous and want a very good hotel at a discount. The restaurant was surprisingly good.

Nice hotel in the centre of Pushkar
Nice heritage style hotel in the centre of Pushkar. Our taxi couldn't reach the hotel due to the width of the small lanes, so the hotel staff came to meet us and carried out bags up to the hotel for us. The staff were very attentive and helpful, however the staff in the restaurant spoke limited English, making discussions and explanations of the dishes on the menu difficult and some things were lost in translation. The restaurant is on the top floor of the hotel on a roof terrace, providing good views across the city and a nice cooling breeze. We ate lunch on the first day that was good, however we were left disappointed at breakfast, with only eggs and toast on offer. We would have liked there to be a couple of other options available, including fruit. The room was clean, beds comfy and was equipped with ac, tea/coffee facilities and a fridge. We really liked the style of the room, it was quirky and quite cool, but were disappointed to be on the ground level right next to a busy street. The room had no window, just a small stained glass window and we would have preferred more natural light. The hotel only had hot water on from 7-10am and for a few hours in the evening, so if you required a shower outside of these times you were required to ring reception and ask for the water heater to be turned on, which was done quickly with no hassle. The hotel arranged for a taxi with a/c to take is to Jaipur airport, for a reasonable price. Would recommend and stay again.

Charming haveli in great location
Well appointed haveli in reasonably quiet area (narrow roads, so only tuk Turks and motorbikes can drive past). Short walk to many of the towns attractions. Lovely restaurant on the rooftop with great service. Gorgeous rooms with everything you need. Excellent check in with a local map given and explained. The manager made a point on greeting and checking with guests if everything was ok. Note: vehicles are unable to drive to the haveli, so you can either walk, and the hotel staff will meet you and carry your bags, or you can grab a tuk tuk/auto rickshaw.

Good budget hotel for exploring city
Pros - We enjoyed the overall stay in the hotel. It had a good architecture, maintaining the traditional "haveli" look and feel. Its located in the old city area close to the city palace and plenty of restaurants at walkable distance. (But you need the hotel staff to help with luggages cause the cars can't enter into those streets). The food was decent. The hotel will help with taxi for inter city travel, which was helpful. Cons - The breakfast option needs to be improved drastically, cause for 1-2 days its okay. But gets a bit boring after that with the limited options. We had issues connecting to wi-fi, so that needs to be improved as well.

A jewel in the Venice of India
Madri Haveli is located in a quiet but central street very close to all the main attractions which include the beautiful lake Pichola, the City Palace and some great shops selling footware at amazing prices plus textiles e.t.c. The management and staff were very helpful and our taxi driver called the hotel when we arrived so that the staff came to the taxi to collect our luggage for us. So do ask your driver to call. The roof-top restaurant is very good indeed with views over the lake and the food and service were excellent. The hotel is a 300 year old Haveli which has been restored and refurbished to a very high standard and we'd highly recommend staying here to fully enjoy the "Venice of India".

Best boutique heritage hotel in town
This place is awesome: Located just 5 minutes from basically any important site, it is designed and built by a French guy who has an eye for details. Beautiful rooms, quiet interior, incredible service by staff. Food is mediocre, consider other places for lunch and dinner (especially if you seek for good views on the lake). If available consider an upgrade to the suite, which makes you feel living like a Maharadsha. If you look for the hidden gem in Udaipur, this is it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Madri Haveli and highly recommend it to experience the charm of staying in heritage building. Lots of beautiful architectural details in the building make it special. It is located in the center of the city and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the lake and mountains from the terrace. Staff and management are very courteous and accommodated our last minute requests.

The street may be a bit too ethnic for comfort but the property is awesome. Its a labour of love for the American photographer who has restored it inch by inch, put in all the mod-cons without losing authenticity.If only one could stay in all day ! Honeymooners please note. Others, however, have to eat too and that's where it disappoints. A three year old hotel should have got its act together by now. Breakfast was average including the thimbleful of fresh juice. Dinner was Rajasthani wish flavours moderated beyond recognition. Service requests left the staff flustered, the smile evaporating instantly. That said, there is much to do here including ayurvedic massage, browsing through the picture gallery and just staring at interesting bric-a-brac or marveling at the architectural details in every corner. More than worth the money.

Probably my favorite hotel from our trip to India. The rooms are spacious, quiet, cool, and spotless, and the ambience is hard to beat -- colored light streaming in from the windows like stained glass and wide wooden doors throughout. The staff was particularly friendly without being overbearing and spoke great English. The location is fantastic as well, with the City Palace, temples, lake, and restaurants just a 5 minutes' walk away. Highly recommended! Thanks for a great stay!

Excellent boutique hotel
Would highly recommend this gem of a place the staff can not do enough to help you . My room was a real oasis from the madness of udaipur tea coffee facility's in room everything you could need ..the restaurant is on the roof top with great views overt the city .. They let me have an early check in and a late check out .. It's in old udaipur with the very narrow streets just minutes from the lake .. Very quite in the hotel to sleep .. A great hotel

One of my favorite hotels of my two week trip to India. The hotel has a lot of character, is very clean, and has superb service. Great view from the rooftop where breakfast and other meals are servered. Highly recommend. Ate dinner once at the restaurant and was very pleased.

Stayed for 2 nights. Very nice, well located hotel. Great value for money. A little noisy during the day (as well as the rest of the city), but quiet at night. Wifi access in rooms is weak, but for short stays is manageable to use the internet only in common areas.

Gorgeous view from the roof-top restaurant.
My driver had a hard time finding the place. Once located, there was no problem. It is a beautiful building and maintained nicely. I appreciated that they wash the floor daily. The hotel staff were extremely helpful accommodating my needs - prepared early breakfast just for me for early check-out. The only issue I noticed was although the hotel had a centrally located tip box, the staff (bell-hops and food servers) asked for tip each time they performed their services. So I felt obligated to tip each one instead of contributing to the box.
