Perfect Retreat Spot in Quiet Cove

"Quiet lake view, gravel road, wildlife, shade trees--if this sounds good to you, this is the place. The studio apartment was clean, furnished with the necessities and some generous touches. The trade for the country calm is that restaurants and grocery stores are at least a 25-minute drive, so the standard-size refrigerator/freezer is a useful thing. The bed is very firm, the shower pressure is good, and the living room futon and chairs are comfortable. Communication with the host was prompt and friendly. We would stay here again."

"Everything about this property was excellent grade. The only thing that could be improved is the AC. We were there for a week when the temperatures were in the high 90’s with an index of over 100. The second bedroom was especially hot to sleep in. Overall, we had a wonderful time"

"We may be more particular than most people. In our room (402), the door to the balcony needs repaired as is hard to open & the shower nozzle needs replaced. Cleaning of the room was just okay/not excellent. Pool area was beautiful & Doc’s was a nice amenity. We were particularly disappointed in the Summit Restaurant, which has excellent service but the food quality was lacking. Everything was heavily over-peppered. Overall Shanghai-La Resort is a beautiful facility in a gorgeous location. We just maybe expected a little higher standard in our room."

"Great location in a quiet cove! Nicely updated interior. The game room was spot on for teenagers and husbands who want to feel like a teenager again. Equipped with everything we needed to cook homemade meals.The only unexpected issue was leaving the boat uncovered in the slip. The dock has solar lights that come on at nightfall (which we loved for our sunset cruise) but didn't anticipate so many bugs in the boat the next morning. If you leave a boat in the slip make sure to bring a cover. Overall, wonderful stay. Thank you Damon and Deborah "
