Never rented a scooter and walked to Ninh binh twice. Freedom was such a relaxing wonderful experience and the little lady who literally sweeps, cleans and smiles all day. "The workers (2 young men) who worked in the reception and kitchen were overly nice friendly and super helpful. The retreat is very beautiful and lust but it’s so far from the Tam Coc main city, very excluded and quiet property. The bungalow we stayed in was nice but small. We stayed in the 1st one of the 3 bungalows in the same section. The AC didn’t work well and the drain in the restroom smell so badly. The balcony to view the pond is nice but so small we didn’t go out there plus it was so hot n humid. The place came w/ free breakfast but the food was just OK even when we had lunch there, it was OK. Ninh Bình is an absolutely city! I fell in love w/ the place and the nature. I will come back again but stay at a hotel closer to the city for easy access and walkable to restaurants and shops."
