"We really like this hotel. We come to Ames often because our child attends Iowa State University. We try to stay at the Best Western Plus University Park Inn & Suites when we're there. The rooms are comfortable, the lobby is nice, and the pool is good."

I had to make three separate phone calls to correct the overcharges made to my credit card although there were no incidentals purchased and the entire stay was charged the first night. Overcharges were eventually corrected after a few days, but not without a lot of perseverance and escalation to management and corporate. "

"The pool was atrocious. The chemicals were so strong that the kids could only be in the pool a few minutes. And the chemicals were so strong you could only sit in the room a few minutes before your eyes started to burn. Very frustrating since the kids were so excited to go and be able to swim after a busy day."

"Pool was broken, first room not clean, second room electric went out had to change rooms in evening, third room next to very active neighbors at night. Heard everything walls are very thin. Teenage son was very uncomfortable."

"Best hotel. The property is very clean and nice, like a newly completed building. Their pool and hot tub were great to relax and enjoy. Their breakfast was wondeful with variety additions like strawberry pancakes, everything bagel etc. There are different restaurants and other amenities nearby. Will definitely stay there again when visiting Des Moines."
