Please note: The properties have a water supply from the owner’s bore hole and there is a narrow metal spiral at the Downhouse property.. These two stone holiday cottages (ref 29227 and ref TJU) date back to the 17th century and enjoy a rural location with superb sea views.
Pet-friendly, the cottages were extended from a pair of one-up, one-down ancient cottages, which were extended in the nineteenth century. Both cottages have a rustic feel with a clomber oven, beamed ceilings and flagstones.
The large garden at Downhouse offers endless enjoyment for families with racquets provided for swing ball tennis, along with cricket bats, a football and hockey sticks, also surfboards.
Both cottages benefit from a sitting-out area with stunning views of the coastline. Surrounded by countryside, they are perfect for walkers to enjoy the views from the Southwest Coastal Path. Ideally situated for visiting some of the many attractions of Cornwall, including Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, the harbours of Boscastle and Port Isaac, made famous by the TV series ‘Doc Martin’. Further down the coast is Polzeath, the ferry at Rock to Padstow with its array of interesting shops, pubs and Paul Ainsworth and Rick Stein’s famous restaurants.
The private water supply is renowned for its natural, refreshing taste and is tested annually. Please refill your water bottles rather than buy plastic ones. Beach 1 mile down the lane, then through fields. Port William pub for good food and spectacular views. Millhouse pub and restaurant is 1 mile.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 9 guests.

A really lovely stone built property with amazing views a mile outside the local village.
Great location to access Tintagel, local beaches and North Cornwall. Very well specified properly with pretty much everything you need, from kitchen implements, to kids DVDs to washing machine etc.
The only downside is a very narrow spiral staircase to access the first floor (which is also where the toilet is), so not one for people with limited mobility

What a gorgeous old cottage! It is comfortable and cosy, decorated in keeping with its style and age and in a stunning location overlooking farm fields and the see in the near horizon. Also had a super garden with outdoor tables to enjoy in good weather.

The cottage was very cosy and warm, lovely garden our dogs had a lovely time. One drawback was the internet which is shared with the adjoining cottage. At best it was on for about an hour at worst it was on for 30 seconds at a time.

Lovely old cottage in great location, suitable only for the able bodied: the spiral staircase to the bedrooms and bathroom was very difficult for my disabled wife

Downhouse is a lovely cosy cottage dotted around with charming antique touches.
Downhouse is a lovely cosy cottage dotted around with charming antique touches. We loved the sea views from the cottage and also the beautiful garden that came with the cottage. I stayed there with four children; so one adult and 4 children and it was just right! The only hitch was the one bathroom but it was not a big issue as we were out most of the time. We did enjoy coming back from a day on the beach and having a shower with plenty of hot water for all of us. The cottage is also ideally situated to explore fishing villages like Port Isaac and the lovely town of Wadebridge. Gina the owner was very helpful with suggestions for good beaches and restaurants and also fishmongers.
