With only seven rooms, this charming property offers beautiful views of Mirabello Bay and a wonderfully intimate atmosphere. We stayed for 10 days, and our experience was fantastic. Domes of Elounda, Autograph Collection

10/10 Excellent

"All these items were very good"

Enorme Infinity Elounda - Adults Only

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely hotel a little way from elounda village so best to have a car unless your happy to walk into town. Really liked the position which I think is better than agios Nikolaos. The pool area is really lovely. I was bitten by a hornet…. Beware they hang out near water and saw quite a few. This meant I didn’t get to enjoy the pool and beach because I had a terrible reaction to the bite."

Ella Rocrita, All-Inclusive Resort

8/10 Good

"The resort is lovely although a little remote, we felt for a weeks trip we really had to hire a car. Some things promoted do not exist, such as hiking trails around the resort or biking- there are no bikes available. None of the pools are heated, so in October they are cold and very few people ventured in. The ninja course was excellent, but very little for teenagers to do apart from this. We booked the padel court, but that is one booking a day and has to be done from reception. Fitness classes were good, but difficult to get bookings for - they filled up quickly. The staff were mainly from the Philippines, worked really hard and were great with the children. The food is good and all booked via the app, it is just a shame in a 7 night stay you only get to go to 3 of the 4 à la carte restaurants. The bar staff and drinks were really good, with great choices of cocktails and wines. The room was lovely, and kept beautifully clean. Overall a good hotel at the price paid, so happy."

Aquila Elounda Village Resort, Suites & Spa - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"Lovely location and very helpfull staff. I would say it would not be suitable for anyone with Mobility issues because the site in built in to a steep hill so the beach and many of the facilities are some way down from the main resturant. Great Spa with lovely supportive staff."

InterContinental Crete by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the InterContinental Hotel in Crete. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The hotel was beautifully designed, my room was comfortable and spotless, and the views were breathtaking. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the location was perfect for enjoying everything Crete has to offer. Every detail made my stay feel special. I highly recommend the InterContinental Hotel in Crete and would happily return!"

Domes Aulus Elounda, All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton - Adults Only

10/10 Excellent

"Loved, Loved, Loved, the staff here was absolutely amazing and so helpful. We spent part of our honeymoon here and it was just what we needed. We paid for all inclusive and chose a room that gave us access to their exclusive pool and restaurant at the top of the resort. Was definitely worth it as the food and presentation was great. The resort itself was beautiful, only downside is that it is on a steep hill so travel around resort can be tricky as you have to call the front desk to arrange a buggy to pick you up. Beach access and spa is great. The resort also helped us plan activities to do. I can’t explain enough how beautiful the views are here. Don’t hesitate and just book!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Thripti?

The best area to stay in Thripti is within the village itself, or in one of the secluded accommodations located in the surrounding Thripti mountain range.

Staying directly in Thripti village offers a truly authentic Cretan experience. It's a small, traditional village with local tavernas serving regional dishes and a relaxed pace of life. You'll find it an ideal base for exploring the local hiking trails and experiencing Cretan hospitality.

For couples seeking tranquillity and stunning natural beauty, the secluded villas and guesthouses scattered throughout the Thripti mountains are an excellent choice. These properties often feature private pools and panoramic views of the olive groves and the Lassithi plateau, great for a peaceful retreat.

When is the best time to go to Thripti?

The best time to go to Thripti is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October.

These months offer a wonderful balance of warm, pleasant weather without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer. You'll find the temperatures ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region, from hiking the Thripti Gorge to relaxing on nearby beaches. The sea is also warm enough for swimming during these periods.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and exploring ancient sites, May and September are particularly good. The wildflowers are often in bloom in May, making the landscapes especially picturesque. September provides consistently sunny days and the sea remains very inviting after the summer heat.

If you're primarily looking for a beach holiday and don't mind warmer temperatures, mid-June to August is also an option, though it will be busier and hotter.
