Many regional and international sporting events still take place in the park, which is located 4.8 kilometres (3 miles) northwest of the city centre. There are music concerts year-round in the outdoor Olympic Stadium and the indoor Olympic Hall.

Now, you can drink and eat on the same historic site in the centre of Munich.

The Viktualienmarkt is a vast market with hundreds of stalls dedicated to local and international food, souvenirs and works of art. Come to buy fresh produce, meats and bread for a picnic in one of Munich’s spacious gardens.

Experience Germany’s highest peak at Zugspitze, a ski resort located on a beautiful glacier. The mountain’s high altitude, reaching 9,718 feet (2,962 meters) above sea level, ensures excellent snow coverage for powder-hungry skiers.
