"The Ruby River Hotel advertises as a relaxing retreat which couldn’t be further from the truth. This is a party hotel, Vegas style, in the middle of the city. The pool is Vegas pool party, the staff’s attitude is terrible. It is very loud. Parties out by the pool into the morning hours, kids yelling and screaming poolside into the wee hours as well. If you’re wanting a slice of partying Vegas style, no sleep and absolutely no attention or help from the staff, this is the place for you. However if you’re wanting a ‘relaxing retreat’ stay well away from this place. Definitely do not recommend."

"The check in process was awful. Once you got to the clerk he was wonderful. So it was not the staff, it was the management of the staff. Check in time was at 4:00. We arrived at 5:15 there were about seven people in front of us, one clerk. by the time we made it to the counter there were 15 to 20 people in the line. It was a festival weekend so lots of people in town. Two employees came into the area, no one helped they stood at the front desk talking while 15 people waited in line. Totally unacceptable."

"We were very pleased with our stay at the Overlook Nook. It was impeccably clean, well appointed (it seems like they thought of everything), nicely decorated, and had an expansive view overlooking downtown Spokane. The sunroom in the back was a cozy spot for unwinding after a day of travel-or out on the town. I didn't look at the binder until the last day to be sure we were checking out correctly, but there is a lot of information in there about the area that is worth checking out when you are planning things to do during your stay. We were there to visit a relative and the highlights of our trip were Manito Park's Japanese Gardens, Rose Garden, and Dahlia Garden, a stop at Rockwood Bakery for scones and iced coffees, checking out the exterior of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist - designed in the English Gothic Style, and spent some time at Riverfront Park watching the waterfalls... Staying at the Overlook Nook enhanced our stay and made it really enjoyable to just hang out around the house and relax, cook, read or whatever. We will be back for sure!"

"The facility was older but clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was satisfactory, but the bathroom was in poor shape. The bathtub had some type of epoxy like they use on boats all over the bottom of the tub. It was bumpy and peeling. The bathtub was very uninviting. I contemplated not showing because it looked like the stuff on the tub would come off. I would definitely not take a bath."

"The house and location was perfect. We enjoyed our stay very much. The host was very easy to contact and communication was great as well. The home was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We will be staying there again every time we come back to visit Spokane. "

"We rented this home for a family gathering, choosing it for the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and open layout. For our group of 10, the space itself worked well and allowed everyone to gather comfortably.The interior was generally clean on arrival, including most bedding and linens. We had no issues with heating, cooling, or TVs—all worked as expected.That being said, there were several concerns that future guests should be aware of. The exterior was poorly maintained: the yard was overgrown with weeds, not mowed, and had visible trash. The listing mentioned a grill, but we did not see one.Inside, there were multiple safety and maintenance issues. The front porch carpet was dirty, torn, and a tripping hazard, with no handrail. The kitchen floor is damaged and uneven, and the rug under the dining table is worn and also a tripping risk. These are not minor cosmetic issues—they impact safety.Cleanliness was inconsistent in places. Two towels under the upstairs sink had stains and did not appear freshly laundered. The bathtub trim upstairs is peeling with water damage, and the stair handrails were sticky and grimy.The mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable, making it difficult for several of us to sleep well.Overall, while the layout worked for a large group, the lack of upkeep and safety concerns made the stay less comfortable than expected."
