Learn about Liverpool’s four most famous sons, the Beatles, at this permanent exhibition, complete with photos, memorabilia and funny anecdotes.

During the middle of the 20th century, four Liverpool natives formed a band called the Beatles. It would become the most famous band in the history of rock ’n’ roll. Learn the story behind that band with a particular focus on the town in which they grew up at The Beatles Story, a permanent exhibition. Read memorable stories of the band’s humble Liverpool beginnings and see iconic memorabilia from their monumental career.

Study a detailed replica of the Beatles’ first venue, the Cavern Club. They played here repeatedly throughout their early years, and it is considered to be the birthplace of pop music in Britain. During your stay in Liverpool, catch a show at the actual club, which still stands in the city.

Tour the exhibition with an audio guide narrated by John Lennon’s sister, Julia, to learn the most details and anecdotes about The Beatles Story’s exhibits. Plenty of rare memorabilia can be found throughout the museum. See George Harrison’s guitar, the round sunglasses that Lennon made famous and a limited edition vinyl of one of the band’s classic albums. A wide array of photographs depicting the Beatles in Liverpool is also on display.

Bring the kids to the museum’s Discovery Zone, which inspires creativity while teaching the history of the Beatles. Children can play a giant piano, or sit in on an interactive workshop. Younger and older audiences alike will enjoy the feature presentation of the Fab4D Experience. Watch John, Paul, George and Ringo star in a hilarious animated adventure.

Located in the concentration of cultural institutions around Albert Dock, The Beatles Story can be reached by bus or on foot. If you are driving, park in the garage at Albert Dock for a fee. The Beatles Story is open every day other than Christmas Day and Boxing Day. There is a fee for admission.
