Study a detailed replica of the Beatles’ first venue, the Cavern Club. They played here repeatedly throughout their early years, and it is considered to be the birthplace of pop music in Britain. During your stay in Liverpool, catch a show at the actual club, which still stands in the city.
Tour the exhibition with an audio guide narrated by John Lennon’s sister, Julia, to learn the most details and anecdotes about The Beatles Story’s exhibits. Plenty of rare memorabilia can be found throughout the museum. See George Harrison’s guitar, the round sunglasses that Lennon made famous and a limited edition vinyl of one of the band’s classic albums. Located in the concentration of cultural institutions around Albert Dock, The Beatles Story can be reached by bus or on foot. If you are driving, park in the garage at Albert Dock for a fee. The Beatles Story is open every day other than Christmas Day and Boxing Day. There is a fee for admission.
