Danesfield House Hotel And Spa

10/10 Excellent

"A return visit to avoid the heatwave….. it’s always good to return to Danesfield. Such an idyllic setting, close to Marlow and the beautiful Chilterns. The room we had benefited from recently being refurbished, it also had a lovely terrace where we sat and enjoyed breakfast. There were some new faces amongst the staff but they were as friendly as the existing Team who always welcome us back. Another lovely escape…. We’ll be back soon Danesfield"

"Really beautiful setting and well proportioned rooms. Staff were all very friendly and helpful (my dad who was also staying left his phone in the restaurant and just as I was heading downstairs to find it for him someone was at our door to hand it over!) Air con is a little dated and not very effective, but everything else was really excellent."

"Clean hotel with large room, which even had a small balcony. Staff were friendly and informative on check in but checking out was less friendly and more of a process. Tea and coffee available in room with biscuits, a Nespresso or similar would have been a better option as now offered at most hotels. Good size desk for working on, with plenty of sockets in the room but no USB points, wifi had very good signal and easy to connect to, small table and chairs in the room as well as place to store suitcase. Shower was powerful and hot with soap/shampoo available and there was also a bath if you prefer a soak. Breakfast was from the menu which was a nice experience rather than a standard buffet, had to walk to and place order with the staff as they seemed to forget I was sitting at the table waiting. Good quality food though. Swimming pool was large enough for a swim with jacuzzi and also a large steam room and sauna, both working well and hot, although the steam room could have been cleaner, mainly due to the age and small tiles. Parking available and free with the booking making it more value for money."
