Stayed in this lovely, newly refurbished motel in Collingwood recently. Spacious, nicely furnished with a very well equipped kitchen area, this is one of the cleanest, best presented motels I've ever stayed in. Right opposite the Collingwood Tavern for an evening meal, a few steps along the street from the handy convenience store and just a little further to the Farewell Spit tour office, the Pioneer Motel could not be better situated. We had the family 2 bedroom unit which was a great size, had everything we needed and more. We were glad of the AC as it was a warm day and the spa bath was a bonus too

We enjoyed our stay, it was lovely and clean and the most important to us was a lovely comfortable bed .Very close to town yet still had a country feel to it. Would stay again.

This is a nice, clean and well-maintained motel. It is well positioned, close to the beach. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He gave us an excellent explanation about all of the attractions around the area with recommendations for what to do and where to eat. We will stay there again when we are in Nelson.

This is a nice place set back from the road. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful, the room had nice comfortable facilities and was very well set out. There was a lovely skylight in the bathroom. Close to the attractions of Nelson yet not noisy.

Our stay at Saxton Lodge couldn't be better. The managers David & Desma were wonderful, always present, extremely helpful and very accommodating - the ultimate "good sort". Rooms are large, well equipped with decent bathroom/showers, heat pump/air conditioning, glass double glazed to prevent noise from the main road, rooms in general were very quiet, you couldn't hear any noise from adjoining rooms or the road when windows are closed (or you can open them up for fresh air which would be great...

After driving from Picton in the heavy rain it was nice to arrive at my Nelson motel. Check in was fast and it was great to unpack in my comfortable room. The next morning was sunny and I did the PIC’S Peanut butter factory tour at 10am. This is only a 10 minute drive from the motel and free, but must be booked online beforehand. After the tour I went next door to Pomeroys for a coffee and bought some of their Cranberry and Carot Tea before driving to Westport.

Staff were lovely and helpful, rooms clean and a good size for a family. Short walk to a number of eateries. Laundry available. If you're lucky you'll meet the very smoochy motel cat.
