Rustic upgrade from a log cabin. Great service from the staff checking in and leaving (we left our cooler in the room and called back to have them hold it until returned at the end of the day). Beds were comfortable,
Within 2-3 blocks there are multiple restaurants and cafes, easy walking distance. And good access to the lakefront trail that runs thru town.

We're truly grateful for your wonderful review and look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Really nice stat here. Clean, new room with proper A/C.
Very friendly staff. Johnny at front desk always make sure to take care of us while we hang out at the lobby.
Love the location too, walking distance to fine dining area.

Comfortable and quiet place to stay with “Fish Camp” Theme/Decor. Delicious morning mocha coffee was available. Great location across the street from Safeway and CVS and walking distance to town to shops, restaurants in the lake. My only negative is the carpet needs replacing in the room.
I’ve stayed here several times, easy parking, grocery is right across the street, restaurants around, and 15 min away from the ski resorts, very convenient. The air conditioner was noisy but I’ll just use earplugs.
great stay. It was perfect location for Granlibakken and visiting nearby spots.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
This property is old and antiquated the carpets were filthy no bedspread, just a wool blanket. The couches in the lobby which are pictured in the ad were very worn were probably nice in the 80’s. Our room wasn’t ready at 3:15 but a 4:00 o’clock check in time ,so she showed us a room and it smelled like they used cleaners to cover up what might have been in there the night before. I waited at the door threshold that was enough for me. My husband walked in and said it’s all right but I could tell he wasn’t OK with it. We were joining our family that was at North Shore and we had been at South Shore. Needless to say we did not stay we did not check in and paid $322 for no room , very unhappy. I have notified Expedia of the room quality but I just want people to know the property is so mis advertised. The pictures are either doctored up or taken 20 years ago in the summer time. Also be careful if you are compromised with walking the steps are all damaged concrete and you have steps and levels to get to the rooms the place is so hard to describe. I didn’t get a good feeling when we pulled up and no cars in the parking lot. We sat in our truck for a few minutes to decide if we wanted to see a room or not. Wish I would have never made the reservation at all.

We sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced during your stay. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we regret that the property did not meet your expectations. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust in the future.
We enjoyed 2 night stay here. The room is comfy and clean. We played family board game in the lobby. But on the second night, the next door guests were fighting and screaming. We couldn’t sleep well and kids felt scared. We did call front desk in the middle of night and stopped the noises.
The stay was terrible. On a night when it was 20 degrees outside the hotel room heater did not work. They were not around to help and when we brought this to their attention in the morning the front desk did not show any concern. For being in Tahoe and having no heat is terrible. Do not stay here!!!

I'm truly sorry to hear about your experience with the heater during your stay. It's genuinely disappointing to learn that we fell short of your expectations, especially given the freezing temperatures in Tahoe.I apologize for the inconvenience you faced, and I want to assure you that your feedback is crucial for us to improve. Had we known about the issue sooner, we would have certainly taken immediate action to address it and make your stay more comfortable.I understand the importance of a functional heater, especially in such weather conditions. Your concerns are valid, and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention. Please accept our sincere apologies, and if there's anything we can do to make amends, please let us know.Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to have the opportunity to better serve you in the future.
Really comfortable and inviting lobby for a motel, nice to hang out and grab a drink or watch tv. Only complaint I would have is the mattresses seem old and saggy, could stand to be replaced. Otherwise rooms are pretty updated and nice.
In a word: charming. Basecamp was excellent for a brief stay in the mountains. Great staff, creative and funny decor, and overall very charming. Will stay there again sometime.
Great room with adorable decor! Lobby has a happy hour with beer and wine and outside fire pit. Across the street from Safeway and the lake. Easily walkable to restaurants. Less then 15 minute drive to palisades/alpine! I would love to stay here again!
It was such a lovely stay! The hospitality was bar none. Micheal was such a great part of our stay over. He gave us a little history of Tahoe, great recommendations for nearby restaurants and was just so friendly. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Your reception staff are an absolute asset to your property! They were amazingly helpful!
Great location, easy check-in, great staff. Room was nice, clean and cute. My only suggestion is that it’s due for new carpet. The weather up there is cause for wear and tear.

Hi Lisa! We're thrilled you love our vibe! Thank you for the positive feedback, we look forward to welcoming you again soon!
Stayed on a Saturday night with our toddler, the hotel is very cute and has a great look. The lobby area fits perfectly with the name and location. Location is great as well. The room was on the small side but enough. It was carpeted throughout but being pet friendly and in an area known for snow and outdoors a non carpeted entry would have been better as the carpet was a bit gross feeling and there was a slight smell. Pillows were thin and the bed was a bit stiff but it worked for a night. The fire pit was great to roast s'mores.
