Very nice and tidy place. Only complaints would be the thin walls and the heater isnt very warm. I wouldnt recommended coming in the middle of winter if youre not used to the cold.

Old world charm in a convenient location meets modern accommodation and friendly service. Great value for a room with ensuite near the town centre with a full cooked breakfast available downstairs.

The staffs were friendly. The hotel stay was pleasant overall, but the linens on one of the beds had mold, so that bed couldn't be used. That was the only disappointment.

Quaint Oldy Worldly feel to Hotel. Loved the stained glass windows. The room was very clean and comfortable. The down sides were that the tv remote was broken and their scrambled eggs in the morning were just a slab of egg. Not light and nice

The inside was so adorable i really loved it. The room was great. The staff were lovely and breakfast in the morning was really nice.

Room was tiny and dirty with mold on the ceiling and in the bathroom. The air conditioner did not work for heating so we were given a little fan heater for warmth. The front door lock/code did not work, fortunately the back door did.The duty manager did the best he could with what he's working with and gave us free breakfast for all the problems. The building and common areas are lovely and the breakfast was good.

It was at Christmas, the hotel looked lovely. It is so charming with the stained glass and old furniture, the library and games (I mean cards, etc, not computers) room. I didn’t book a vegan breakfast but I talked to the lovely breakfast chef and she said they could arrange vegan breakfast and also dinners. I slept well, the shower, aircon, tv all worked well. Having a fridge was great. The bed covers and sheets were very comfortable. Being close to the train and the shops is great if you are using public transport. Thanks so much Hotel Metropole.

Don’t be put off by the external appearance!

The external appearance is very dated. However inside it is charming. Lots of original features particularly in the library and games rooms upstairs. The inside courtyard area has a charm of its own. Our room was an internal room with no external air (windows opened into internal courtyard) and so we asked for a room with external windows which we could move to. Essential given the area was experiencing a heat wave! Breakfast excellent and plentiful.

Good location and property is dated but has a fine aesthetic. Room was a bit short of the “royal room” experience advertised. Lumpy uncomfortable split bed and single ply public toilet paper. Never asked about our stay on check out. Shared billiard room and library were a fine feature.

It's just a typical guest house style of place. For those wanting 5 star I would suggest looking elsewhere. I've stayed here many times with friends and family as a group and it suited our needs perfectly. Breakfast is good value. Rooms comfortable and clean and situated slap bang in the middle e of Katoomba. I really feel at home here. Overall excellent value.

The place is well located and has a kind of shabby chic about it. But I have *never* had a staff member at a hotel be as rude to me as one of the staff here was. She made some hella big assumptions about me based on her opinion about my appearance I guess and was really belligerent and gross to me. Just disgraceful.

Although the hotel doesn't look that much from the street it is full of historic charm inside. Thoughtfully and nicely restored this gem in the Blue Mountains town of Katoomba, NSW was a delightful surprise. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The single room, although tiny, was immaculate. The newly remodeled bathroom was modern with a large walk-in shower. The buffet style breakfast available at an extra charge was well stocked and quite adequate to set you up for day's exploring. Well situated in the heart of town and a 3 minute walk from the train station, the Metropole is an excellent choice.

nice modern bathroom,excellent shower, attractive rooms Very nice old world decoration and feel Staff were helpful There was nowhere to hang clothes and no choice provided for bedding, I was too hot.! No facilities to dispose of sanitary items for women TV in one of rooms didn't work I would have liked a bedside lamp.
