Ramada By Wyndham Marcoola Beach

"I’d like to start by saying the staff are great! This is the reason I’ve given any stars and its location to the beach (I didn’t go but it was close and great view). Now for the actual room, do yourself a favour and book elsewhere. This place is a $99 Motel with a view and close proximity to the beach. It has no business charging anymore than that let alone the $190 I paid for my ocean view room! The room was disgusting, blood on the bathroom door jam, hairs on the bathroom wall (not mine), peeling panels, ripped dirty curtains, the other curtain with gross smegma on it, no side lamps, carpet felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, walls looked like mould was growing on it. I made sure to check the bed sheets before lying in bed, luckily for me the sheets and towels were clean! Do better! When you’re taking people’s money, you need to do better!"

"Rumba Beach Resort is my go to get-away every visit for the last 10 years. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The evening happy hour is fun. Views from my 2 bedroom are amazing. Beach sunrise and Glass Mountains sunset. Nothing better! Easy access to eateries and walking the boardwalk up the coast."

"Holes in the sun shade curtains,no shower curtain, Rusty toilet paper holder,no microwave and the door had a gap that funneled the wind right under the door. Ordered the executive garden apartment and I got a room with no garden. As far as I was concerned that I had actually ordered the room with breakfast included. In the check in process I was informed that I didn't have breakfast included. Noisey hallways and can hear the next door apartment's noise. The whole experience was not good and I feel like I have been ripped off."

"Room was clean and sufficient to needs of stay. Very convenient regarding the location- is within walking distance to major shopping centre. Daily breakfast is a good draw card. Plenty of coffee and eating places close by too. Bathroom is roomy and positive with having the body wash/shampoo/conditioner/ moisturiser available in pump bottles in larger quantities than those normally found in hotels. The only real negative for the room was the bed. I had booked a king, but had two king single beds pushed together to make a king bed. No mattress protector to eliminate the gap made by pushing two beds together. Sheets did not accommodate this either- they were too small for said bed and each morning the mattress was exposed. Also personally found it a bit strange that there was no top sheet. Overall I would stay again, but probably will just book a standard room."

"We stayed in a two bedroom apartment overlooking the pool with some views of the beach too. We have two kids and between the pools and playground, we had an amazing getaway. Staff super friendly and greeting when you’d walk past in the morning. Room was clean, a little older but that was not an issue. Will be staying here again and possibly most of the time we visit the sunny coast again!"

Pelican Waters Resort

"I love this hotel. Great value for money and tucked away for a quiet stay. There are renovations underway but it didn’t interfere with the running of the hotel. The pools are excellent, wonderful new gym, the restaurant is open from morning till night fur breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cocktail bar. Games room on the patio. Very spacious foyer with a large leather couch for relaxing. I chose a studio apartment overlooking the pools/golf course. Such a beautiful view to watch the golfers and bird life on the canal. Very very relaxing to sit with a glass of wine. There is a reading chair and footstool in the room aswell as 2 double beds and a bistro table/2 chairs. Kettle/toaster/fridge/bowls/plates/cutlery/wine glasses and a very well stocked tea caddy. I shall be revisiting real soon."
