"Breakfast was good, though staff weren't clearing tables so a big queue soon built up. Problems with the coffee machine slso meant we had to go without. Room was clean and spacious. A lot of areas in the spa were out of order so it was basically a pool & sauna. Service in restaurant was poor and extremely slow. Food was generally good but not as described on the menu eg banoffee icecream was actually vanilla, and cherry cheesecake was actually strawberries & raspberries, neither of which was mentioned on ordering. But the worst was that one of our party had a large piece of greaseproof paper in their chicken pie. This meal was deducted from the bill but wasnt removed from the table and no substitute offered. "

"Comfortable, clean room in a quaint old pub. Food was OK, but pricey. The most disappointing thing, given that the pub is owned by Adnams, was the quality of the beer. I tried all three of their staple brews, all of which I know and like, but they were all flat and lifeless. They were also very expensive given that they were only brewed ‘up the road’!!"

"The accommodation was excellent. Very comfortable, although a little cold when we first arrived. It soon warmed up. We loved the fact a Christmas tree had been put up in the living room. Just one or two gripes. "

"I want to say lots of nice things, but there’s a couple of things that really let us down. The property wasn’t very clean, piles of dirt/dust in the corners of the lounge, windows full of hand prints, whole house was absolutely covered in spiders, alive and and cobwebs and there were some areas that just needed a paint freshen up. The wifi was so poor you couldn’t watch the tv and was so bad that the email I sent to the hosting company didn’t send at all. Lastly the bed in the main bedroom is not a super king as described it’s much smaller and when stripping the beds as we had to do before we left there was no mattress topper/cover on our bed. This was an issue as I had specifically booked the house for the super king bed. Overall not anywhere close to what we had expected for the price we paid."

"Our extended family of five adults stayed for one week at Quay View. The location was wonderful as we expected from having lived in Orford in 1982-1984. We loved walking around the town and along the trails, eating at the Jolly Sailor, and taking day trips to explore other areas of Suffolk. Overall the home was lovely, but several issues factor in to a less than stellar review. We felt "nickeled and dimed" with added fees for things that other properties might regularly include. The one add-on we did pay for was early check-in. Others like "fans" might be very nice as the weather gets warmer. The top floor gets very warm. Furthermore, the WiFi does not work on the top floor and the top floor water closet is extremely tiny. Perhaps that top floor is only intended for young children? We chose this particular rental partly for the laundry facilities, counting on washing our clothes during our week-long stay. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the washing machine to work. While the property manager was gracious and tried to help, the home owner refused to repair the washing machine during our stay. They did not even offer to bring fresh towels or refund us the 25 fee for early check-in!"
