Orford is a delightful village and the crown and castle sits in the centre. Very comfortable. Lovely staff and delicious food.
The room was pristine, the breakfast was excellent and all the staff friendly and efficient. One member of staff, John, was particularly lovely and went out of his way to help us on the afternoon we arrived early before our room had been cleaned. He let us into the room to change for the wedding we were going to and gave us some towels to freshen up. Also, the following day he went out of his way to help find us a taxi which was proving very difficult!
Fabulous stay in this characterful hotel with amazing views, excellent breakfasts, attentive & helpful staff. Walks from the doorstep along the estuary (car not used); boat trip to bird sanctuary - and seals; pretty village with selection of shops and riverside tearoom serving wonderful fresh crab sandwiches: perfect.
really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. Great Breakfast with lots of choice. We had a garden room which was very spacious and comfortable. Will definitely stay again.
The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, helpful and pleasant. Our room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean and the food was excellent. We really hope to visit again.
Perfect balance between being looked after and switching off in idyllic surroundings. Will be back now we’ve found this gem of a location.

Very cute rustic but clean and renovated. Stayed in one of the cabins. Very comfortable and good sized with a small porch in the back leading to a nicely maintained garden. Staff are friendly and happy to help. Missed the dinner but the breakfast was excellent. The village is tiny with not much to do.
Great spot and wonderful staff. Not sure about the rooms in the actual hotel but the room we had situated in the outbuilding were very tired and in desperate need of an update. Unfortunately the bathroom wasn't very clean, and for over £200 per night, a little disappointing. Food in the restaurant in the evening was very good, lacking atmosphere but overall a peaceful evening.
Not bad but unfortunately the food was not up to the standard we have been used to in our previous visits. Dinner could not really be described as "fine dining" and breakfast was a bit uninspiring. The garden room is lovely but the mattress was a little bit too soft for my taste. Service is still good however.
Stopped here for the first time last night, for work, and what a lovely place it was to.
Staff were extremely polite and the service was excellent throughout my stay.
My room while not the largest I've stayed in was of a good size.
A pleasing item in the room was a small flask containing real milk for a good old cupper, this is a rare find as most times you stop way they only provide that terrible hit milk, that spoils you first tea of the day.
Food was of an excellent quality, I just wish I had had a better appetite to be able to make the most of what was on offer, but I didn't so I settled for corn fed chicken, which was great.
Would I stop here again, absolutely.
We had a lovely few days over the bank holiday weekend. We had dinner twice in the restaurant and both times the food was excellent with impeccable service. Breakfast was equally as good. The staff could not be more helpful. We had an amazing view from our room looking out to sea. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent all-round for an overnight stay while attending a concert at nearby Snape Maltings. Stylish, comfortable room. Professional and friendly staff.
