"Great stay, room was excellent, breakfast options were varied and well cooked. Hosts were very helpful and allowed me to store my rented bike in their garage. Overall a great stay. Good location to travel out to Skara Brae, Birsay, the Orkney Brewery, Stenness, Ring of Brodgar, HOUTON AND THE ferry to Scapa Museum."

"Good location in the centre of Stromness, OK for a short stopover, no meals on site but some availability at the partner Ferry Inn just along the road. Fairly limited eating places in the area."

"Love this hotel! Its location near the harbor and right by the main restaurants and sites in Kirkwall is really convenient and safe - with fun things to do all around. The staff were all very pleasant and the pub and restaurant were nice."

"Easy access from the ferry terminal and a great bar. Shout out to Euan/Ewan for his excellent whisky and gin recommendations. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a view of the harbour. Dinner needs to be booked in advance and is really good quality, top marks to the Chef. Buffet breakfast a little cold, which was a shame as the produce delicious. "

"The Ayre is conveniently located and we we very pleased with the accommodations. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a great place to stay when arriving on the late night ferry."
