Stunning Thatched 16th Century Cottage. Dog Friendly. **HOT TUB**

The Old Post Office is a quirky, Grade 2 listed, thatched cottage, dating back to the late Sixteenth Century when it was originally two tiny cottages. It was converted into one property and became the original village Post Office in 1903. The cottage has been tastefully modernised whilst retaining its many original features.

Dorsington is a tranquil village with plenty of historic buildings and the cottage is a short walk to The wonderful Dorsington Arboretum. The village is just 7 miles to Stratford Upon Avon and less than 5 miles to the northern boundary of the Cotswold District.

The Cottage has private, off road parking for 2 vehicles. There is a sizeable out-building which houses the hot tub and laundry room. There is ample, lockable storage space for bikes etc. There is a lawned garden to the rear of the property with a patio dining area , and a bbq. There is an outdoor hose for washing down muddy boots and paws.

Downstairs we have a w/c, a modern but traditionally styled kitchen with an adjoining pantry. There are separate living and dining areas each with a wood burning stove for those chilly nights.

Upstairs there are 2 spacious bedrooms with comfortable King Sized beds and a full modern bathroom with an over-bath shower.

Guests should be aware that the property features low ceiling beams, particularly in the living room and the first floor windows are very low to the ground.

Please note that due to the timber structure and thatched roof, smoking is strictly prohibited in and around the property. Candles are not permitted but battery powered candles will be provided for you.

Perfect in every way
Wow...totally blown away by this cottage. It is so beautiful, clean, and immaculate. The host was great and even left us a few food item to get us started. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and all the finishing touches made the stay that more comfortable. There is a great range of utensils in the kitchen, and a vast array of dvds. We stayed over new year with our whippets, who thoroughly enjoyed the walks. There is a lovely dog friendly pub about 2 miles away, which we walked to via the country lanes. It was lovely to come back from a walk to a nice cosy fire, and a relax in the hot tub. This trip was all we wanted and more, we can't wait to book again.

Beautiful cottage & location
Our stay here was fantastic. The quiet location was perfect with plenty of walks directly from the village for us and the dog. There was plenty of information provided on local pubs and eateries as well as walks. We were even invited to the Village Platinum Jubilee celebrations by the neighbours which was a lovely touch. Thanks Jo & Adam for a perfect getaway.

We had a fantastic stay at this stunning thatched cottage. We arrived to a warm, lit house with music playing. They paid attention to all the little details like seperate towels for the hot tub, a lovely welcome basket and even poo bags! We would highly recommend a stay here. It was a beautiful place to relax in.

We stayed here for Christmas and we had a wonderful time. There was a beautiful Christmas tree in the living room and the dining room had lovely Christmas decorations. Everything about our stay was perfect, we have lovely memories of our Christmas at The Post Office.

Beautiful Cottage and Fantastic Location
We had a lovely few days at The Old Post Office and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is perfect and we loved all of the finishing touches added by the owners, including of course the hot tub! Jo provided us with plenty of advice on the local area, including pub / restaurant recommendations which was very helpful. We highly recommend and look forward to returning!

Our stay was lovely - the house was beautiful as was the location. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing time. The house was clean and comfortable and Jo had left some good advice on places near by and things to do. Overall we had a great experience.

Beautiful characterfilled house. Tranquil setting
Lovely stay with my partner and her parents. The house was amazing, everything inside was perfect for a self catered stay. We BBQ'd nearly every night and spent lots of time in the garden. The house was magical (despite the ceilings posing a problem being 6ft 3). The area was tranquil and very relaxing. We very much enjoyed listening to the multitude of wildlife and evening walks spotting them. Would love to plan a winter visit to take advantage of the spacious dining room and living room as well as enjoying the fires. Book in and book out was seemless. Thank you very much to our hosts. Contact was perfect and the little hamper we received on arrival was such a nice touch.

The most relaxing break we've ever enjoyed
This little cottage is a gem; thatched and beamed, it's a beauty but it is also comfortably and tastefully furnished and equipped with anything we could possibly need. There's a pretty garden, with a seating/eating area on a patio and sunloungers for laying around. The hot tub located in an outbuilding was a plus - perfect for soaking out those aches and pains after a day exploring the gorgeous countryside. We wouldn't hesitate to book again next time we're looking for a bolthole in this beautiful part of the country.

Relaxing Staycation
This property and its location exceeded our expectations! We were looking for a staycation location for our family and active border collie. This met all our needs, quiet location, yes a few cars but really minimal compared to where we live and at the time we booked they had not added the hot tub, so this was an added bonus. We loved all of the walks, on the doorstep as well as the enclosed garden for our dog. The house itself has everything you need and more! Jo and Adam the owners answered all our questions and communication was excellent, along with the "Welcome" items. Really cannot recommend highly enough. Jo and Adam, we loved your cottage and we hope to get another booking with you soon.
