Hotel Boulderado

6/10 Okay

"The room and customer service were not in line with what I paid to stay there. The front desk staff at check-in was not particularly welcoming despite my efforts to engage them and be friendly. They got the job done, and accommodated my request for a 1 hour late check-out, but they could just as easily have been working at a Motel 6 for all the customer service skills they exhibited. The room was very clean and nicely sized. It was on a corner with beautiful views and high ceilings. However, one of the curtains had a large tear as did the carpet. More importantly, the A/C had not been turned on and it was incredibly hot. Despite turning it on and turning down the temperature, it never really got to a comfortable sleeping temperature. The mattress was both hard and deformed (classic indentations on each side with a hump in the middle). The pillows, although abundant, were mismatched and lumpy. Starting around 7am, I began to hear periodic, loud banging noises. I never could determine where they were coming from, but it didn't appear to be from any room nearby. The room was on the top floor, yet the sounds seemed to be coming from above. Very odd. The staff at check-out was friendly and possessed of great customer service skills, and noted our issues once we explained them. Overall, I would say I was very disappointed. I have stayed at the Boulderado before, and that experience was very different and much better. I would advise staying elsewhere, unfortunately."

"I arrived at the hotel at 3 pm. There is one person ahead of me. After 5 minutes I get called over to the desk. The girl working the computer must have been new or something because she didnt know how to get me checked in. She called her dad over to help. I am like whatever she is probably just learning. They look up all reservation and things like that so I think I am about to get a room key. The dad asked if I would wait in the lobby while he checks to see if a king size bed is available. At this time I tell him thats not necessary I'll take whatever is ready I am traveling by myself. He proceeds to walk off. I stay sitting in the lobby until I get finger pointed too and waved up by his finger lol He does some things on the computer then takes off again without saying a word. By this time there are multiple groups growing weary as we have all been waiting almost an hour. Finally I get called up and get my room key. It was 55 minutes from the time I got there till I got to my room. It was ridiculous and I dont know if theu where just having a bad day or what. The customer service needs an upgrade. Besides that the room was okay for a 2 star hotel. It was nice and clean and had all the basics you need for a quick stay. I rented the room because I came up for the Bolder Boulder race. I will definitely use one of the surrounding hotels in the area next year"
