Top St. Bees Beach Hotel Reviews

The Edwardene
8/10 Good
"Great location very quiet we found our room ( Heather )was very small with furniture over hanging the bed near to your pillow and you had to be very carefull when getting up in the night as the gap between the wardrobe and bed was very tight."

Irton Hall
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely hotel with good food and friendly staff. We stayed in one of the self catering cottages but were able to book evening meals & breakfasts in the restaurant. Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds."

Keswick Country House Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Rooms require some repainting and stairwell is very dull and dark with most windows needing repair and repainting. The cocktails were fantastic though. As the restaurant closes early it would be nice to have cheese and biscuits available in the bar area in the evening "

Seacote Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Looks rundown and outdated. Very noisy in general as a result of lack of insulation and hotel guests. It didn’t help that our room was right above the entrance where most had their cigarettes and a generally yarn or argument."

Lake District Castle Inn hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"The breakfast menu was really good , The staff were all amazing apart from one in the last couple of mornings at breakfast. Plenty of lovely sitting areas throughout the hotel The room we had was lovely and comfortable, due to the revamping of the hotel its not as clean at it could be. But we had an amazing four days We will be going back. "

Ennerdale Country House Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"Sadly this is one of the worst Hotels I’ve ever stayed in, I find it funny to think that it causes itself a boutique hotel. Lovely gardens and that’s where it stops. What I loved was the fact that my room was right next door to the main road, so the idea of sleeping was an impossibility with traffic passing right next door to the window all night Long. "

The Melbreak Hotel

"Room was very nice. Team were very friendly"

Powter Howe
10/10 Excellent
"This is a wonderful property with lots of historic charm and stunning scenery right on the doorstep! I stayed 4 nights and Karen really looked after me; delicious cooked breakfast each morning and a newly lit fire in the evenings to sit beside. She gave me a tour of her gorgeous garden and introduced me to her feathered friends; the chickens, cockerel and pheasant as well as her lovely dogs.
Her knowledge of the house and area is really insightful and Karen was more than happy to advise where needed.
Powter Howe is easy to find, has plenty of space for parking, and offers fantastic views facing the Skiddaws and Barf behind it. There is also a lovely short walk from the house and through woodland to Bassenthwaite Lake. Although the A66 can be heard it doesn’t detract from the beauty of the place.
I would definitely recommend a relaxing stay at Powter Howe and hope to return again very soon myself. Thank you Karen, for making me feel so welcome and at home."

Moresby Hall
10/10 Excellent
"Returning to this historic hotel for a third visit was just as enjoyable as ever. Although my room was smaller this time, it was still beautifully maintained and very comfortable. I was especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in at no extra cost, which made my trip even more relaxing.
The food remains outstanding, and the staff continue to provide a genuinely warm, friendly, and helpful service throughout. I was in Whitehaven for an event over the early May bank holiday weekend, but truthfully, the chance to stay here again was a big part of the reason for my visit.
A consistently excellent experience - I wouldn’t hesitate to return again."
