Summary:

The Space:
Rooftops is a beautifully refurbished Grade II listed fisherman's cottage in the heart of Mevagissey. The property sits on a quaint, winding street, overlooking the working harbour, rolling hills and tiled rooftops of the historic town below.

The ground floor entrance has a lovely stable door, which can be left half open for breeze on summer days. This leads into the homely kitchen, which is well-equipped with all the appliances and utensils one could need. Includes dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine with capsules, large fridge freeze, washing machine and tumble dryer. Additionally, there is a high chair for those with little ones.

The first floor can be reached through a second entrance or via the stairs. This level has a cosy living room with 4 seater sofa, Eames armchair & beanbag. There is also a smart TV with Apps, selection of books, DVDs, board games and toys for evenings in and rainy days. From here you can enjoy harbour views out of the traditional sash windows.

The top floor features two bedrooms and a shared bathroom with rainfall shower. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, ample clothes storage and harbour views. Furthermore, there is an additional flat-screen TV and Roberts Radio for relaxing in bed. The twin room also has a radio and distant sea views. Additionally, there is a travel cot for guests travelling with babies.

Whilst there is no enclosed outside space at Rooftops, the cottage is set on a quiet narrow lane with no passing traffic, which provides a safe space for children to play or the perfect spot to enjoy a drink in the evening sun, looking over towards Heligan. This also means your stay will be very peaceful.

For those with babies, we have a travel cot and high chair available.

The vibrant town centre is literally only a minutes walk down the lane. Here you can find a vast selection of pubs serving food and local beer/ales, several highly regarded restaurants serving freshly caught seafood, takeaways, curio shops, craft shops, galleries, pottery shops, fudge shops, the list goes on! There is also a small convenience store and chemist.

There is also an abundance of activities right on your doorstep. Whether its crabbing off the harbour wall, fishing trips, hiring a motor boat or kayak, catching the ferry over to Fowey or setting off on coastal walks, there is something for everyone! Lots of lovely beaches are also close by, including Caerhays (also with stunning castle), Vault and Hemmick.

Mevagissey is perfectly situation for exploring all that South Cornwall has to offer. Just a short drive away are the stunning Lost Gardens of Heligan and quaint fishing villages of Gorran Haven and Portmellon. Further afield, the historic harbour town of Charlestown with tall ships is only 15 minutes drive, whilst the world-famous Eden Project can be reached in about 20 minutes.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire property.

The Neighborhood:
Mevagissey is packed with a vast array of pubs serving local food & beers, restaurants, cafes, takeaways and gift shops.

Getting Around:
Due to the narrow streets, walking is the easiest way to get around Mevagissey. Although, there is free street parking a couple of minutes walk from the property as well as several paid car parks in the town should you bring a vehicle.

If not, there are regular buses to and from the surrounding areas including Gorran Haven and St Austell.

Other Things to Note:
The property is set on a steep hill, so if you have mobility issues this may not be suitable for your needs. Guests over 6ft 3 should be aware that some of the ceilings are low so they may need to duck under beams!
