When is the best time to go to Southside Highlands?

The best time to visit Southside Highlands is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller. Late spring offers comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and exploring the scenic trails of the Highlands. The wildflowers are usually in full bloom, adding to the natural beauty. You'll find fewer visitors compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at popular attractions like the Highland Falls viewpoint. Early autumn also provides excellent weather, with temperatures similar to late spring, usually between 12°C and 22°C. The foliage begins to change, offering stunning landscapes of reds and golds, particularly along the routes leading to the Highland Summit.

Cedar Glen Lodge

10/10 Excellent

"Cedar Glen Lodge is amazing. Charlie the general manager is very caring and helpful. Sean is great too. I highly recommend this hidden gem. No complaints, we will be back!"

Lakefront Cabin with private pier on Donner Lake

10/10 Excellent

"We had such a wonderful stay! The cabin was incredibly comfortable, cozy, and inviting. We're a family of three, so we had plenty of room, but it could easily accommodate a larger family as well. The location was perfect! We were only about 10 minutes from downtown, yet it felt so peaceful and secluded, surrounded by beautiful trees. Check-in was a breeze, and Karen was always quick to respond.Having our own private access to the lake was absolutely magical and definitely one of the highlights of our stay! One thing to keep in mind: there are quite a few stairs to get to the cabin and down to the lake. But hey, your glutes will thank you! We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!"
