"I chose the Comfort Inn & Suites West Springfield for a special birthday weekend getaway, specifically looking forward to relaxing in the pool and hot tub area. While the front desk staff (particularly the lady at check-in) was incredibly kind and welcoming, I unfortunately cannot say the same for the rest of my experience.My stay was significantly impacted by a complete lack of supervision in the pool area. Throughout the weekend, there were groups of unattended children jumping in and out of the hot tub and running around the pool deck. Not only did this make it impossible to have the relaxing birthday experience I had paid for, but it felt like a major safety liability. As a guest, I didn't feel it was my place to act as a lifeguard or chaperone, yet there was no hotel staff presence to enforce the posted "adult supervision" rules. It’s a shame because the hotel has potential and the service at the desk was great, but the chaotic environment in the amenities I specifically booked for really ruined the occasion. I left feeling more stressed than when I arrived, which is disappointing for a milestone celebration. I had hoped for a much better experience from this Choice Hotels property."

"First, I was not aware when booking this hotel, that the rooms all had outside access only. To get to our room we had to use our key to go into the building, walk up 2 flights of stairs to the second floor, exit the building and walk around the outside to the room.The elevator did not work so obviously. This not ADA compliant. There were places in the upper outside walkway where the concrete was cracked and missing from around the supports The room was ok, carpet was dirty. Outlets were broken and dangerous. The one on the lamp had a cracked outlet with a piece missing. The one on the wall had the outlet cover hanging off. The beds were comfortable once you got into them but they were very high off the floor, I am 72 and struggled to get my leg up high enough to be able to use the sheets to pull myself into the bed. My daughter was afraid I was going to fall backward and hit my head on the other bed. Breakfast consisted of so lukewarm potatoes, stale bagels and burned coffee. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. I am surprised Expedia has this listed as a hotel they support."
