Nice property and nearby South Lake Tahoe main market. Very clean with on premises parking facilities. Good restaurant in walkable distance. There are plenty of other good restaurants within 1.5 miles.

Lake ridge is honestly the best hotel in South Lake. Its on Manzanita along with many of the smaller, individually run hotels, right on the CA side of the state border. Ive stayed at probably 10-15 of these places and they are all similar-ish. Lake Ridge is amazing though becuase of their way of handling everything and the hands-off approach, coupled with the well-maintained and serviced rooms that are more than the bare minimum but also not forcing a pretty penny with over-the-top luxury. Because of the low staff-needs due to their genius setup and the autonomous checkin and out proceedures that they have, the price range remains one of the very best as well - never bumping out of range even in the busy season. Unlike several of the other comparable hotels though, its tucked back in a quiet spot as well while still remaining centrally located and is probably the only hotel to do that succesfully in that part of South Lake. IMPORTANTLY though is the staff. By far. The. Absolute. Best. They are responsive, prompt, and willing to bend to help whatever is needed. I was even offered a place to store things for a couple days between reservations. Just absolutely amazing. The rooms are well decorated and a mix of contemporary and modern Wifi is strong and reliable. AC blows hot and cold quite well. Ice machine works. Tap water is tahoe blue so by all means drink it with pleasure Their only knock is not many rooms. Maybe 25 or so, so if you see it available for your dates buy it

It is by far the easiest check in procedure I have ever come across. I wish every hotel had less contact, but still provided a warm welcome. The owners here manage to do both. On top of the breezy check in, the king bed was extremely comfortable. It felt like a tempurpedic bed with plush pillows in a quiet, temperature controlled room. I would stay again based on free parking, location and ease of travel. Thanks guys!

Liked it for its proximity to Heavenly Village and its large spacious room with three queen beds which made for a comfortable night of sleep. Did not like it for the limited availability of staff. Required additional step of registering through a 3rd party site, uploading copy of DL, and downloading a 3rd party app. I received the code for my room via text. Though free wifi is advertised, there was no information for the password in the room. There was no one around to ask. I tried replying to the text I had received, but there was no response. Also, one of the bedstead lamps in my room did not work. Again, no one around to help.

Worst Hotel Experience Ever
Upon arrivial, there was a very strong chemical smell in our room that we could not remove by either airing out the room or mopping the laminate floors. The smell was making us sick and I was having an allergic response. It was extremely unpleasant and felt unsafe. There was nobody at the hotel office and the phone number provided for issues and emergencies went to an outgoing message with no way to leave a message. We contacted Hotels.com that night and they couldn't reach the hotel either. We were up until 3am literally crying in that room feeling trapped and uncomfortable. Even though we paid for 2 nights, we left as quickly as we could the following morning and stayed somewhere else. Lake Ridge Hotel is refusing to provide a refund and now we have to take legal action against this hotel and Expedia. I've never had an experience this bad at any other hotel.

We stayed here for 3 days/ 2 nights once we checked in we got stuck with some questions however it was all online and Paige helped us navigate the check in. Very friendly/ great customer service. From the hotel it is about a 10 minute walk to Heavenly which has many stores and restaurants. Highly recommend this location if you’re looking to stay in the center of South Lake Tahoe

Starting with the checking is until 4pm, there is no one at the office to assist you. Our room wasn’t ready at 4 so we had to wait till almost 5pm to get in our room. This was very inconvenient for me since we were tired and cold from playing on the snow all day. The room is big and seemed clean though one of the beds smelled like sweat.

Will never stay here again
Would never stay here again. I reserved a room with two queens, the one they gave us was a single king. The amount of noise you can hear from other guests in their rooms might as well have had them INSIDE. People in another room were arguing for hours throughout the night but there was absolutely nobody available to ensure other guests were protected. Could hear them walking around loudly, screaming at each other. It was a total nightmare stay!

A Hotel for large group w/ min amenity and comfort
The hotel provides minimum accommodation need and is not designed for comfort. The hotel has a relative good location and is one of the few hotels that provide single room for up to 6 people. This trip we stayed as a family of five over two night on a weekend in February. First, the checkin was smooth with contactless and smart lock. All procedures were done in advance to arrival so was convenient and easy. The room was a room with 3 Queen beds. The facilities was minimal and is NOT designed for six people. There is only a single table with two chairs in the room, one single sink and minimum sets of hangers in the room. Therefore, there was lack of space to place personal items and we ended up having to place many items on the floor, which does not seem ideally clean. The room is heated with one single space heater and control is far away from the heater so it doesn’t seem accurately control the heating of the room. Following one night of sleep, 5 out of six of us thought it was cold at night although the temp controls says 72F. We contacted the property via text but received no response over the course of our stay so that’s a zero for service. Noise is loud as you can hear neighbors walking and showing if you’re on the 1st floor. So. If one is looking for a place to “sleep” for large group, this could be a choice but expect the minimum. For the price you pay on the weekends, I’d find somewhere else that provides better amenity, and comfort.

Contactless check-in and check-out was so easy! No door key or card, just a code to put in the door which was so convenient . Location was great, walking distance to Heavenly Village. The room was large and comfy. Really the only issue was the floor was a little dirty (left our socks and feet dirty) and the toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) had already been opened/used.

I never heard from you guys as to our check in information. I called and called and there was no answer. So I had to call hotels.com 45 min after check in was supposed to happen not to mention 1hour and 45 after you said I was going to receive my check in information. Hotels.com tried to contact you and nothing. So they had to move us to a different hotel and charge me again. So I received a charge from you guys, which you should refund by the way. And a charge from the hotel we HAD to stay at because we were already in Lake Tahoe 5 hours away from home. Horrible experience, having to wait outside at a park in the cold for you guys to email me. And I have 2 little kids.

Selene, I am so sorry you had a bad experience. We were in communication several times before your arrival date. You even completed the request we sent you for check-in information. I don't know what changed in your contact information but we sent you the room number and door code several times. Since you booked through Hotels I don't have a way to contact you directly but sent multiple messages via the Hotels website. If you had come to the hotel, my cell phone is posted on the front door. I am always on property but due to my multiple responsibilities at the hotel, I am hardly ever in the office. If you leave a message I am immediately notified and will call right back. Again, I am sorry and will take your feedback into consideration when looking for additional means to communicate with my guests.
