We had a wonderful ski vacation. There were 14 of us, three families total, who enjoyed a week of skiing and snow mobiling. The house is about 30 minutes from wolf creek ski resort, and in the town of south fork. The town is quaint with a few shops and a restaurant or two, but we spent very little time in town. Pagosa springs is probably about an hour away and we did not make it there. The house met our needs and accommodated all sleeping arrangements. The bunk bedroom was nice to have for kids. The living and kitchen room is located on the 2 floor, which is nice for those getting up early and starting breakfast. It did not wake the others. One bedroom is on the first floor and three more are on the third floor. The mud room and laundry room were on the first floor, along with the hot tub. The storage lockers were very nice, as each person could hang ski clothes in a location near the door. Wildlife came out in the mornings and evenings, which everyone loved. Deer and turkey were abundant and it was fun to see. We only have two drawbacks, which are not major but worth mentioning. One, the place is somewhat dated. However, it is priced well and it was clean, just dated. Second, you have to take your trash to a dumpster in town. This is only a five minute drive to the location but I was not a fan of this. The owner should pay a bit more for trash service which would accommodate the guests. Neighbors have outdoor trash bins for pickup, but we had to make a few trips in town. Again, not a major issue but an easy fix for the owners. Overall we loved our time. We are from Texas and were very nervous driving to and from the slopes in snow, but the city or county makes sure the roads are plowed and sanded well. Watch weather reports closely before you arrive and return. This was a big deal for us in early January on our ride home. This was our first family ski vacation and we loved it.
