"We came to Hotel Tybee because it offered what we sought, a direct path to the beach on a romantic getaway for two. Reading about its history prior to booking told us this was a luxurious destination for the elite, since become an affordable family destination. To this end we booked the Ocean View King room, their most romantic offering, but when we entered the room we saw: sand all over the floor; leftover food from the previous guest in the mini fridge; the fitted sheet turned inside out instead of being replaced; various strands of hair on the bathroom towels. In short, proper turndown and cleaning was not performed. When presented with this, staff offered to put us in another room but it would be a lesser room, as an equivalent exchange was not possible. We asked for a full refund, which was given and we found other accomodations elsewhere. The long history of luxury has long since passed, and unless you are comfortable with a certain lax in cleanliness and dereliction of duty, I would say, do not stay at the Hotel Tybee."

No need to bring beach towels, chairs or even a personal cooler. All these amenities were on hand for our personal use. Our group of 5 found this location to be a hidden gem at Tybee Island making our vacation a most memorable time and grateful we found our way here "

"There is only 1 car per room allowed and the girl at the front desk had no idea where we could park our 2nd vehicle. I feel like she should have been able to direct us to other parking. The hotel is a little aged but the location is great. A 2 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. Air conditioning was a little loud. Bed was comfortable. I would stay here again "

"The room was very clean except the shower curtain was about a foot too long and that part sat in the shower floor. It was nasty dirty. I spoke with Kensley at the front desk and she made it right. I really appreciated her helping me. "

"Parking is extremely tight. The beds are rough to sleep on. The shower curtain didn’t go all the way down so the floor got soaked. The towel rack was broken. The sheets had a stain The only positive is there is night life and souvenir stuff very close and the beach is only a short walk away. "

"Met our needs perfectly for a quick visit to the area on our way to Florida for a cruise. We wanted to stay in a place we haven’t visited before and we will definitely be coming back for a longer stay. The condo was as described, the beds were comfortable, having a balcony was nice in the mornings for coffee and evenings for a beautiful sunset, we weren’t there long enough to enjoy the kitchen so we aren’t able to give a review on that but from what we saw everything was there to enjoy meals in. The location is perfect to walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. "
