"This property was pretty much all that we needed for our stay. Everything about it was perfect for us. The room was exceptionally clean as were the public areas. From the moment of checking in until we left the whole visit was perfect. The person at reception informed us that they had to only recently taken over the property and it was obvious that they are doing some fantastic upgrading work to the rooms as well as the public areas. It is a lovely venue and I would highly recommend it."

"My wife and I had a fabulous 2 night stay. Our room was lovely, staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was first class. The bar was a lovely place to relax after a long day walking. We would definitely return for another visit. I have only one observation to feedback, and its minor. The decor in our bathroom was tired and needs looking at. The bathroom was clean and tidy, but paint work and fixtures were beginning to show their age."

"Considering that this hotel has only been open 3 weeks the staff have done an excellent job. A few shortcomings that we were told would be corrected within the next 7-10 days (Limited draught beer and no breakfast option to name but 2) did not distract from service provided. Large room with a jacuzzi bath and awesome view of the grounds. Exceptional staff, nice bar and restaurant area (the steak pie is a must try), lovely gardens and close to the motorway for your overnight stop. Will we stop here again...... in a heartbeat"

"Enjoyed my stay. The food was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Couple of points. It was not obvious on entering the grounds where the entrance was. Having a hot drinks dispenser on the corridor is not brilliant as I am not getting up to go down the corridor to have a drink in bed. Revising the room layout, especially the strange wardrobe thing and moving the television table completely would leave room for a better smaller wardrobe and for the TV to go on the wall just above and to the right of the bathroom light switch. Other wise I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone."

"Enjoyed my week chilling with my daughter's border terrier. Walked every day. Relaxed doing nothing much. Cabin had everything that I needed, was warm and very clean. Just what I needed to destress. No issues at all. Would highly recommend this cabin. Host helpful and courteous. Excellent place to stay."

"Despite retaining the old pub name, this is now a B&B only, so don't expect a bar or evening meals. The accommodation was good if a little quirky. Our bedroom had polished wood floors rather than carpet, but the beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. Breakfast (continental) is a help yourself arrangement and was fine. In our case, check in was done without the owner being onsite. He texted us the access codes. The bus stop for Carlisle was opposite the front door. We stayed one night while walking Hadrian's wall."
