Solaria Plaza is an immense shopping mall on the northern boundary of Kego Park. It has a minimalist design, resembling a large, square block adorned with occasional rows of dark glass windows. Browse the high-end items for sale in the various upscale boutiques spread across this multistory complex.
Walk past the row of trees and gardens marking the spacious and serene plaza at the entrance to the mall. Explore some of the upscale jewelry and fashion stores for lavish gifts. The food court area has an eclectic selection of restaurants and cafés, where shoppers and families can rest and have something to eat or drink.
On a rainy day, watch some of the latest Hollywood films in the Solaria Cinema. Explore the various exhibits in the Zepha area on the first floor. Keep fit with a session at the Solaria Sports Gym in this eclectic complex. You can also visit the supermarket on the bottom floor or stay at the Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel that is linked to the mall.
Watch through a transparent window to see the DJs of the Tenjin FM radio channel chatting and playing music from their broadcast booth in the shopping complex.
On a sunny day, relax outside on one of the benches of scenic Kego Park. At its southern end is the charming Kego Shrine, a tiny and tranquil temple whose traditional and diminutive look serves as a contrast to the futuristic mall opposite it.
Note that the stores and restaurants open daily from morning until late evening in this site, which is free to enter. Fukuoka City Wi-Fi is free and available in the mall.
Solaria Plaza marks the city center of Fukuoka. Ride the bus or train to the Nishitetsu Station at the southeastern corner of the mall. You can also drive and leave your car in the adjacent square’s parking lot. While you’re in the area, be sure to visit Imaizumi Park, Ohori Park and the Fukuoka City Science Museum.
