Phoenix Airport Hotels from NZ$137 (PHX)

"The photos are so misleading. This hotel is old, outdated, and not in good condition. The area feels very unsafe. Homeless people and shady activity in the surrounding streets. Nearby parking is $30-45 per day. Do not come here. "

"#1. Very expensive. There are a lot of amenities that come with it so that may account for the price. Plus everything around there is expensive. #2. The only way to park there is with an app and you have to pick where you want to park before you arrive and see where the spaces are at. We originally choose a space that was Right Up Against a Wall and Pillar. We have a sonata so it's not huge but it would have required almost a 90-degree turn to get in. So, we had to go in and try to find a human at the front desk who could help. Before that, the app only gave us the option to accept the problem or cancel the reservation. Oh...and there was someone else in "our space" when we returned so We had to re-reserve (3rd time) and further away while they tried to find the person. #3. Humans...there are few around. When you come into the lobby, there is no one at the desk. It's all automated...digital and cold. Someone was nearby who came and helped with the parking but it's still sterile in there. #4. Modern is in the name so I guess I don't like modern. The halls are very long, narrow and there is no personality in the place. Reminded me of an institution. #5. Our room was big but there was a can on the balcony, a wrapper by the bed and the thick rugs were not vacuumed. So...while there are great things about this place, we will look for something less complicated, more human and warm in the future. "

"Gym was nice but a bit small. Our room was fine but the couple we were traveling with were out in an uncleaned room that was very dirty. They were able to switch rooms but seems like lack of quality control. Pool was nice but they ran out of towels "

"Just 2 minor issues on our stay, We got in and tried to check in early. They said the room was not ready but they would give us a call when it was available. We sat by the pool for over 5 hours with a cranky 4 year old. We were up at 3am for the airport and we were all tired. At about 4:10 L walked over to the front desk to get an about date, and I was told the room was ready, and had been ready for some time. No phone call or text. The 2nd item was just a smelly refrigerator in the room. Previous occupants must have had something pretty bad in there, surprised it was not picked-up by housing keeping. Bought some Armour Hammer baking soda and made it work. Overall 5 star stay. Room was nice, grounds were nice, and with the exception of the "no call" the front desk staff was great. Will stay there again."

"Airport shuttle drivers are great… people telling you where to go to get the shuttle not so great. Hotel lobby is the best thing there, the halls are dark & feel dirty. Rooms were good, nothing special. 2 restaurants are a bit misleading. A bar with food service, limited seating. & a breakfast ( which was still closed due to early flight) Pretty expensive but it is expected since it’s Phoenix & next to hotel. "
