Disgusting
This place is filthy and disgusting. It's not worth your money. The washrooms, shower rooms and sink are dirty. Not recommended for any future guests

The three beds in a shared room was unacceptable conditions the mattresses had no springs or platform you would fall through the bed we packed up and left and was not compensated definitely would not recommend

I have never stayed at a hotel or hostel so filthy in my life it was so bad I had to leave immediately. Bugs on the bed urine all over the bathroom i was thinking about calling the authorities because the way they keep the facilities should be illegal.

Don’t stay here
Don’t stay here! This hostel has a lot of bedbugs when we came in and there was no one at the reception area to accommodate us so we transferred to a different hotel. The management should clean their hostel!

Poorly maintained restrooms, 1 out of 2 restrooms had no lights and the other had broken shower with lots of hairs and dirt. Bed linens were dirty.

Wondering why expedia link this kind of properry, too embarassing why in hongkong price i book the same amount with singapore but the room is enought for the price, but city backpacker ia so trible and we force to vacate the room i booked

Perfect staff and bad hostel condition
Overall the hostel was ok. The personal was very friendly and wanted to help us every time. Unfortunately some things are in a bad condition like the ladder of our beds, the lights of the toilet, the shower, etc.

Did not like it at all. I was getting bit by mosquitoes or bed bugs or something the whole time ( I ended up leaving and going somewhere else even though I didn't get my money back, was not worth it). BAthrooms are nasty, never clean, no soap in the bathrooms. Rooms are tiny, no space to even stand with other people in the room. The bunk beds are not sturdy or held to anything so it felt like it was going to fall on top of me like a book case when climbing up.

We arrived and found no receptionist. The place was unclean and not welcoming at all. It also really concerned us that anyone could just walk into the hostel, and then to any subsequent rooms. So, we left. Luckily we found a budget hotel (but clean, private and well staffed) on the parallel street, so we ended up paying for both - but it was worth it.

Needs to improve on cleanliness
Despite being cheap on the rates, they do need to focus on cleaning the rooms better, I checked in a room with the floor not swept with certain corners having hair and dust on the floor. And I suspect the linens are not clean as I was bitten severely by bed bugs. Air conditioning was not serviced so the room was stuffy and hot throughout the night.

The place is nice and accessible to Bus or Train station. But the room beds have a lot of bed bugs and it's really discomforting and upsetting condition. Absolutely Not recommendable place to stay.

Deceiving Picture
If you are low on money, you can hit this place as it is found near the Raffles Square and at walking distance of Merlion Park. Toilet and shower are terrible. For this sum of money you can stay at other places. I have been quite backpacking, and this was the worst place I stayed. I changed to other hostel after just a one night stay.

Pros: none Cons: Entire building is in poor condition (lobby, dorms and bathrooms) Needs new paint, window coverings, flooring and lighting...dark, dirty and dingy. AC volume and temp is poor and worse yet they turn it off from 12-4PM daily...bad deal in March or April. No water pressure in showers...literally need to remove shower head just to rinse off. Sheets are stained and extremely pilled (rough to the touch). Bottom line - owner doesn't care about guests...simply overcharging the uninformed for a dump because he can. You can do much better.

Great Hostel with Awesome Location
I love this place so much and the staff were very helpful. The location was very great and near to the MRT station (just 4-5 mins walk).

till next time.
its so good to stay here specially if your alone, you can be friends with the receptionist. i was a long term customer here... i just booked myself again for another week. the location here is great because every place is a walking distance to every landmarks or tourist spots. you can also ride every bus here to go somewhere else aside from taking an mrt. you can always ask the receptionist on where to go and how to get there. they are great when it comes to customer service. you can also meet new friends in here from different parts of the world. Now I know more about Singapore because of Sadam, Mira and Sue. I've ask different questions with different categories and they gave me an answer from Singaporean point of view. so you can always stay here without worrying where and what to do in this country. see you again CityBackpackers.

Probably the worst hostel in Singapore
The hostel is really really dirty, the bathrooms are disgusting not cleaning everyday, hair, dust, rubbish everywhere. Rooms: no pillow cover, no blanket cover, both are smelling dirty, dust everywhere in the room. Breakfast: just joke, bread from last week and only some jam spread, be quickly they not fill up during the breakfast. No staff until 9am. I never had this bad experience. I don't understand how can day operating in Singapore where everything is clean and organized.

Reception staff are nice, but there was a terrible cleaner who was ver rude to customers. I have never seen a woman as rude as her in my life. The room, and the toilets in upstairs were not clean, but smelly. Good location though. Do not recommend other people to stay there.

the stuff was friendly but the rooms are loud the facilities are not really clean. I'm from Europe and maybe my expectations are high but that's was the worse in all my life time. My friend told me the breakfast is also terrible. Sorry guys I really really can't recommAnd it. This hostel need more Stuff or a better process. All the best.
