"Rooms were freaking gross. Hair, dirt and dust on the tile floor at the entry and bathroom. Toe nails on the carpet by the dresser. Our rooms were never cleaned/serviced over 4 days. No breakfast in the mornings, no pool (says it’s being renovated, but no sign of any construction happening), weight room is dilapidated and the hall ways were filthy. We only stayed cause options were limited due to a national wrestling tournament happening and there was limited availability for rooms at a reasonable price. It sucked and I could have given them some grace on the building being older if they would have just cleaned the rooms properly, but it was disgusting and super disappointing. Would never say here again without a massive overhaul in all areas. Don’t be fooled by the 10/10 ratings... It’s got to be the staff or management trying to salvage their ratings. Do better Del-Mar…a little more attention in cleaning the rooms would go a LONG WAY. "

"I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I honestly expected it to be a bit of a letdown, but it ended up being a great stay. The property felt updated, clean, and very homey, which made a big difference. I especially appreciated the thoughtful amenities. Having a laundry area on the floor was convenient, and I loved the standalone glass shower instead of a traditional tub, it gave the room a more modern feel. The location is about 10-12 minutes from the convention center, which wasn’t bad at all. A Lyft typically runs around $15–$18. That said, a shuttle to and from the convention center would have been a really nice added touch. I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast, but it’s great that it’s offered… always a plus when traveling. If they continue maintaining the cleanliness and overall upkeep, I would definitely consider this place a bit of a hidden gem. The only downside for me was the noise. The walls are quite thin, and I could clearly hear conversations from neighboring rooms or possibly above. If you’re a light sleeper, that’s something to keep in mind. Also, one area for improvement would be the front lobby. On the day of my departure, I went to sit down there and noticed the tables hadn’t been wiped. It’s a small detail, but keeping shared spaces consistently clean would really elevate the overall experience. Overall, a solid stay, I’d definitely book again."
