Top Shobdon Hotel Reviews

England's Gate and Coachhouse

10/10 Excellent

"The room was very clean and comfortable with a good size en-suite. The self-serve continental breakfast is always plentiful and fresh. The location is perfect for exploring the local area and the bonus is the pub with local cider and excellent food options for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. This is our third visit so far this year and we will definitely be back."

The Salwey Arms

8/10 Good

"The premises is on a busy crossroads with an all night filling station adjacent to our bedroom. Whilst appreciating that they can do nothing about their location it might help to know these matters in case people are disturbed by noise in the night. There was no shower and only a bath which is not our preference. The decor in the restaurant was tired and in need of redecoration but otherwise the staff were very helpful and the food and drink good."

The Burton Hotel and Cloud Nine

10/10 Excellent

"We’re walking the Herefordshire Trail and stayed here for one night. I was a good choice. A lovely welcome. We had a room which was clean and comfortable with plenty of room to walk around. Food in the evening was good, with a good menu choice. Breakfast was excellent a good menu to choose from. All the staff were great. We would stay again if in Kington"

Self-catering farmhouse set in 68 acres of private land - dog and child friendly

10/10 Excellent

"We were a family 8 adults and 4 children and we found the property so spacious for us all. A large kitchen with 2 tables enabled us to all eat together with plenty of space. The bedrooms were huge with comfortable beds and bedding. The outside terrace was amazing with plenty of outdoor furniture, bbq and hot tub but above all wonderful views. The whole house was spotless. Lucy was such a good host and any queries were dealt with immediately. The children and indeed the adults loved the horses coming to see us each morning and walking through the cows down the lane. We would definetly return."

The Radnorshire Arms Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"An old building with historic interest situated in a town with many interesting old building which is well worth a walk around. The staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meals and Sunday carvery were tasty and specials were explained. A thing to note is that there is no lift so mobility needs to be good to walk up stairs which was not a problem for us. Enjoyed our stay here and will be back next year as still much more to explore in the ares"

Ludlow Cosy Apartment Retreat

8/10 Good

"Well equipped apartment in a fabulous location. The only suggestions for improvement would be a new mattress- springs could be felt through the bedding and ideally a more comfortable sofa. Communication with the owner was excellent. All in all we had a lovely stay and would book again."
