"I had an amazing stay here and truly can’t thank the staff enough for how kind and helpful they were during my trip to Shima. The hotel itself was beautiful, very comfortable, and had such a relaxing atmosphere. The onsen was also wonderful — very clean, peaceful, and private, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Saito and the rest of the staff went completely above and beyond for me. They even drove me where I needed to go the next day when they absolutely did not have to, which I was incredibly grateful for. When I returned looking for my lost AirPod, they didn’t just point me in a direction — they actively helped me search my room and even looked throughout the hotel with me. That level of care and hospitality is something you don’t forget. Everyone here was so welcoming and genuine, and they made my stay feel special from beginning to end. If I ever come back to Shima, I will absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!"

When is the best time to go to Shima?
The best times to visit Shima are during the spring (late March to early June) and autumn (late September to early November) when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the Ise-Shima National Park is at its peak.Spring offers mild temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the coastal landscapes, cycling along scenic routes, and visiting attractions like the Ago Bay observatory. The cherry blossoms in late March and early April add a beautiful touch to the scenery, particularly around areas like Yokoyama展望台 (Yokoyama Observation Deck). This season is great for couples looking for picturesque views and comfortable outdoor activities.Autumn also provides comfortable weather with cooler temperatures and clear skies, which are excellent for outdoor pursuits and sightseeing. The changing colours of the foliage, especially in the forested areas, create stunning backdrops. This period is great for those who enjoy hiking or visiting cultural sites like the Ise Grand Shrine (just a short drive away) without the intense heat of summer. It's often a good choice for solo travellers seeking a tranquil and reflective experience. While summer (July and August) is popular for beach activities, it can be quite hot and humid. Winter (December to February) is generally cold, with some facilities potentially having reduced operating hours.
