"This was easily one of the most relaxing and genuinely cozy places we’ve ever stayed. The restoration work that Matt and Alli have done is truly remarkable. The home still carries its 1700s character in all the best ways—those little touches of age and history give it a charm you simply can’t recreate. It feels authentic, lived‑in, and full of stories. And yet, you still get the comforts of today: a great kitchen, a 42‑inch flat screen, and a fireplace we absolutely loved. The upstairs bathroom alone, with that incredible shower, is something we’re already missing; along with everything else!The stream behind the house adds a peaceful rhythm to your stay. Whether you’re having breakfast, relaxing on the deck, or just listening to the water. An added bonus is it has some great fish. The house has everything you could possibly need, and whenever we had a question, Alli was quick, kind, and incredibly helpful.It truly feels like a home away from home, the kind of place you look forward to returning to. Honestly, I hesitated to say that because I don’t want all the dates booked when we’re ready to come back.If you’re looking for a place with real atmosphere—close to stores, parks, museums, restaurants, and still surrounded by beautiful scenery even on the longer drives—this is it. Five stars, two thumbs up, or in the spirit of In Living Color, this home definitely gets “two snaps up.”Our sincere thanks to Alli and Matt for giving us such a relaxing and memorable stay."

"Overall had a fantastic stay. Only slight issue was the electronic lock wasn't working when we got there. Called The Host and was in within a few minutes. The house was spotless and well-stocked. During our stay it snowed. Brian was out first thing in the morning clearing all of the snow around our vehicles and parking space. Furniture placement was well thought out and added quite a bit of character to the house. We were very comfortable throughout our stay in a very relaxing atmosphere. The train came by about three times a day at variable times. The kids enjoyed throwing snowballs into the coal cars as they went past. The view of the river and the mountains covered in snow was great to wake up to in the mornings. Will certainly be returning in the future."

"David was an excellent host who was quick to respond to our questions and made sure our family of Californians (unaccustomed to PA winter weather) had a safe and warm arrival. The house was clean, beautifully furnished, and well stocked with essential amenities. The indoor hot tub was amazing and a highlight of our stay. There was plenty of comfortable couches and seating for everyone to hang out and relax. The house was in a convenient location only about 30 min away from the sights we planned to see, including Kitchen Kettle Village, the Amish Village, and Turkey Hill Experience. I highly recommend David’s property if visiting Lancaster County! "

"Just returned home from staying here over the weekend, and it was fantastic. Let me start by saying that the hosts are wonderful! It was a little chilly in the barn for my husband, and we asked if we could have the heat turned up and it was no problem at all. Melissa immediately turned it up and told us if we needed it up more, to let her know. This is a very clean and well kept property. The kitchen has everything you could need. Plenty of dishware and utensils. Lots of coffee and hot chocolate pods. Spiral staircase that goes right into the upstairs bedrooms. A double and a twin in the 1st bedroom and a queen in the second bedroom. There is also a regular staircase off of the downstairs bedroom which has a queen bed also. There is also a pretty comfy couch in the downstairs bedroom. The bathroom is off the kitchen. Now the bathroom is not huge, but is spacious enough. Has adequate shelving over the toilet. Water pressure in shower was great! The living room is pretty big! Dining room table that could easily fit 8 people. Curved leather couch with a Roku tv. Also a couple of rocking chairs. Lots of toys for little ones too. Our great nephews, ages 8 and 3 had a really good time when they came to visit. Also a good choice of books and movies to choose from. Lots of cool little antiques around too. Nice Christmas tree set up in the living room. Also, lots of blankets!! It was very nice and cozy. 25-30 minute drive to Sight and Sound, Dutch Wonderland, etc..."
