The hotel was incredibly busy on some days but the staff were calm, attentive and helpful. Mask wearing was emphasised. Staff were particularly helpfulafter I twisted my ankle the night before we checked out. Seeing I was in difficulty, I was offered an ice pack - which was thoughtful, but a bit impractical for the journey home.

Very poor reception, good room and location

Check in experience was awful. We arrived at 1pm, two hours before checkin and were told that the room wasn’t ready. So that was no problem. We went for a wander and returned at 3:45, 45 minutes after check in and were told the room STILL wasn’t ready despite arriving earlier and that check in was 3pm. Furthermore, the queue to even get to reception was ridiculous and receptionists were regularly without someone at the desk but not asking anybody to move forward. Lastly, the car parking is a charged service which is not on the hotels.com listing! It’s £6 per 24 hours. The room and location were good, very spacious and clean. Breakfast was slightly disappointing in that it was a grab bag situation, and the range was limited but understandable given the context.
