"Amazing characterful warm and clean cottage. Plenty of firewood available and other heating options and plenty of towels. Could do with a few more cooking utensils but heaps of coffee and tea options as well as hot choc and an otherwise well stocked kitchen. Would definitely recommend a stay."

However the email that arrived just prior to check-in that advised the use of earplugs to block the sound of traffic and trains…well it was good advice, but arrived a little too late. The perpetual falling of objects from the trees overhead onto the metal roof of the house all together with the train rumbling through and trucks thundering by, lead to a less than decent sleep. "The hosts were welcome and the amenities in fine condition. This is a terrific house on a great site - thoughtfully designed, very new, and also well planted. We had a fine stay! And could not recommend it too highly. The beaches north and south along the gently rolling downs of North Otago are very beautiful."
