Top Shag Point Hotel Reviews

Charming 1960s Kiwi bach in peaceful Karitane, just 5 mins to beach & harbour.

8/10 Good

"Great little place, good value but FYI the main photo showing a hot tub is misleading as the detailed info tells you that you can't use it."

Beautiful ocean view from this lovely holiday home

10/10 Excellent

"We loved our stay! Very clean and lovely views. Kids loved walking to the little park, enjoyed the river mouth area and walked the other direction to the sandy beach. Great takeaways from the spot right in kakanui on our second night. Lovely to be able to bring our dog, he was cozy in his crate and loved poking around the yard, which was very secure."

The perfect Weekender! Funky beach house made up of a 1900's Railway Carriage.

8/10 Good

"Water pressure was a real issue. Virtually no pressure in the shower even after faulty pump was replaced. Had to use pots of water to replenish toilet cistern as it remained empty after use. A guide of sorts explaining off grid to those unfamiliar would be a good idea.Apart from the water issues the house lived up to expectations and Long Beach is a most beautiful place. Regards Michael Wise."

Moeraki village, family sized house stunning views, 50m to the beach.

10/10 Excellent

"Very cool crib. I would note the 4th bedroom is downstairs, which is only an issue if you have children. Otherwise it is an amazing, clean crib that is amazingly close to the beach and the pub."

Absolute waterfront retreat with outstanding views, just 15 min north of Dunedin

10/10 Excellent

"Stunning location, views and lovely property- everything you need was thought of. Warm & cozy. Host was fantastic with communication and anything we needed. Highly recommended! We will be back again."
