Bracken Hide Hotel

Bracken Hide Hotel

8/10 Good
"Each room is a self-contained unit like an ADU with a bedroom and a bathroom. The only downside that we did not know about was that you have to hike up a hill to get to your “hide”. That feature might limit the appeal to older visitors. The units themselves were perfectly nice and comfortable."

10/10 Excellent
"The room was fabulous with a big comfortable bed. All the staff we met were friendly and very helpful. We were travelling with our dog so couldn’t eat breakfast in the main restaurant but we ate in the tavern instead which was lovely and quiet. We could pick from their menu or order anything from the main restaurant including the buffet too. In the evenings we ate in La Vista and again took our dog, the first was great and again we were well looked after. My only negative would be the cost of bringing our dog at £50 per night which is very high compared to other hotels on our trip and the very long dog policy we needed to sign on arrival which we’ve never come across before. As responsible dog owners we always clean up after our dog and would expect to pay extra in the unlikely event of damage."

"This visit our room decor was more modern. I really enjoyed the classic look from our last visit. The toilet did not work properly so that was a minor inconvenience. We asked for maintenance to bring a tool, but we needed to checkout prior to him arriving. Our room did not come equipped with a mini fridge, which we have grown accustomed to having. The reception staff was wonderful each time. The view of the castle was the best part, it was gorgeous!"

Perle Oban Hotel & Spa

Perle Oban Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good
"The location is great access to all of downtown. The primary issue is that there is only one small elevator and for a number of rooms you still had to pull your suitcase up 10+ stairs as some rooms were basically between floors. There was a tour checking out when we were trying to depart and there was a queue for the one elevator which only held 2-3 people. The maid staff were also using this same small elevator to transport their cleaning carts to the floors."
