As per numerous signs in the gite, guests are not allowed to have visitors and are instructed to confine themselves indoors or in the dismal communal barbecue area, some 70 meters away, including stairs. The property manager is absolutely awesome and not only communicated prior and during this day but also set up a special boat trip option and dinner with a private chef at the hotel for extremely reasonable price. "The hostel is average. Breakfast was good. The double room with a bathroom has 4 beds and is spacious however the bathroom/ toilet is very very small. Overall enjoyed our stay however expected little more cleanliness. Staff is super helpful, they turned the radiant heater On upon request."

The property has a lovely garden and view of the lake but best suits someone with a car as there is a limited bus timetable to and from Varenna and is not suitable for walking. We travelled in October so perhaps there may be better transport options in the summer months. The room had everything we needed but could do with some updating."
