The room was comfortable and clean. The only issue we had was the first day it had a bad smell coming from the drain system. Apparently out of their control, but uncomfortable none the less. By day 2 it was no longer there so it was better.

Overall, we had a great stay at Hotel Sommelier, but communication, breakfast variety and guest safety could be improved. The language barrier made it difficult to ask staff for help. While we understand that English may not be widely spoken, clearer signage and multilingual information would help international guests find answers to basic questions. Breakfast was enjoyable, but more variety, particularly local dishes, would have made it better. Our biggest concern occurred on the day of our departure. A political demonstration was taking place nearby, but we were unaware of it. Staff did not warn us before we left the hotel, and we almost walked into protesters, police and tear gas. It was frightening, especially as we were unfamiliar with the area. The hotel should proactively alert guests to nearby safety risks. A notice at reception, an alert or advice from staff about areas to avoid could have prevented this situation, particularly for visitors who cannot follow local news. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay and found the hotel comfortable and welcoming. We hope management considers these improvements.

The hotel room with its convenient bar fridge and microwave and kitchen, the decor of the room and the hotel in general, the hotel’s location, the service, and the amazing buffet on a rooftop terrace were excellent for the price. We were very pleasantly surprised! We were within a few block walk of the Plaza des Armas and the park at Cerrado Santa Lucia. I also want to give a shout-out to Miguel at the front desk who was very helpful and booked us a taxi to the airport.

Perfect location for a quick trip to Santiago

We loved our stay here. The price was great, location was great, and it has a nice little breakfast (basic, but nice) Staff is friendly (some basic Spanish will help you if you). It IS noisy (bar on rooftop stays open quite late), so if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs and you will be fine!

A great stay in a beautiful city!

Front desk personnel were very helpful. No wifi in first room and they moved me to a lovely suite where the wifi was excellent. Comfortable bed, hot shower, and a fabulous breakfast included at their rooftop restaurant. Location in the heart of the historic district was perfect.

Honestly, I am very happy to share that our staying at the Somalier Hotel in Santiago de Chile at Agustinas exceeded our expectations! We had a very nice room! Bed was comfortable which was amazing. The best part of our staying was the hotel’s amazing location!!! Happened, that we were a block away from an Opera House, literally a 5 min walk to our show! No taxi need it haha I will recommend this hotel with no hesitation 😄

So relaxing in a large clean well stocked space

Large space! Minifridge, microwave, a set of dishes and wine glasses, etc. Everything very clean. Had a toothbrush, shave, and comb kit and modern new shower. The room was so relaxing to come back to after a long day out walking. The rooftop breakfast area also such a relaxed treat and felt good to have a bit of fruit along with the eggs and breads. Such a good value while traveling.
