Huston's Attic-Renewed Downtown Charm at an Amazing Location--13th & Vine!

When you don't need a large home for rent in Paso Robles, consider a tucked away apartment instead. Huston's Attic is a remodeled upstairs apartment with separate entrance, above the Historic Huston House, built in 1894. Located in the heart of the Historic Vine Street district of Paso Robles, just a brief walk down the street will expose you to many historic structures from the early days. It is just one block from the scenic downtown of Paso Robles where you can enjoy dining, entertainment and unique shopping boutiques, or just a quiet walk through the park. You can pick up some fresh local farm goods and items from the Farmers Market in the park on Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. This property is a one bedroom/one bath master suite with a walk-in closet and queen-size bed. It has living room with TV and is set up for internet service. There is a nice little kitchen area with new appliances, and a stacked washer & dryer in the apartment. We have supplied it with extra bedding and cooking needs for extended stays. Beautiful and comfortable in an exquisite downtown location. Keyed entry. City Permit #STR19-0069***Five Star Coffee Program- We start your stay with a supply of coffee, filters, coffee pods, cream, and sugar for our provided drip and pod-style coffee makers onsite at every home.***Wi-Fi and/or power outages can occur periodically in our small town and rural settings, over which we have no control***There may be wildlife on site, including bugs, both inside and outside.***
***We continue to implement our already rigorous cleaning protocols along with an added layer of disinfecting, as we finalize for each guest arrival. On departure, we ask that you take out the trash and begin a load of towels in the laundry, if it exists onsite, and we require that you not leave any dirty dishes/pots & pans. A fee of up to $200 may be charged for dirty dishes/pots & pans.***

Full of charm! This attic apartment was perfect for two. It was extremely clean and very interesting with all of the angles of the roof. Check in (Even when our flight was delayed and we arrived at 2:00 a.m.) was easy, as was the checkout. It actually had more amenities than we thought we would ever use in the kitchen but they were extremely helpful. It was a very short, easy walk into down town.

Had a great stay. Location is great for access to downtown, and very quiet. People 6ft or higher will have to duck in some places, as it is in an attic!

Lovely place to stay

My husband and I chose this location having been to Paso Robles before and knew it’d be convenient for accessing highways, walking to the Square, coffee shops and restaurants, and just pleasure walking. Bruce was helpful, always accessible, super accommodating. We loved the property and they thought of everything for a great visit.

Amazing Location!

We had a great anniversary weekend staying at Huston's Attic. The space is quiet and private while also being a 3 minute walk from the center of downtown Paso. Bruce was flexible and easy to work with. Would highly recommend for any couple looking for a nice getaway.

Historic Gem!

Love the charm and beauty of this attic getaway. Quiet, clean and perfectly appointed. Just a few blocks from the town square and for you golfers out there - less than 10 minutes away from two very affordable and fun public golf courses.

Perfect

The entire experience exceeded my expectations. I knew the location was great, but I expected less given its proximity to downtown. Bruce, the host, was accommodating and genuine. The property is beautiful, and the small upstairs apartment is impeccably clean and comfortable. Since it’s an attic space and I’m a bit tall, I had to tilt my head at times, but I didn’t mind—it was peaceful and private.

Close to perfect

We had a wonderful stay at Huston’s Attic. It is the prettiest property on the prettiest street in Paso. Easy walk to the park and dining, quiet and good parking. It was very hot in Paso but the Attic has a good AC and kept it cool even in the extreme heat. The Attic is well appointed and had everything we needed. It is quite roomy for a one bedroom but be aware the ceilings are low with odd angles that give it a unique charm. We loved it!

Perfect hideaway

The attic is spacious and comfortable. No one lives downstairs, so it's quiet too. It is close to downtown with many restaurant choices only minutes away. It has everything you need plus a few extras. The owner is very accommodating and easy to reach. As long as stairs are not an issue for you, it is a perfect hideaway.

It is a comfortable, clean, well-equipped living space that has been nicely decorated by its owners. Where some short-term rentals include a “starter set” of cleaning supplies and beverages like coffee (sometimes one day’s worth), this apartment included enough coffee pods for both of us for our entire stay. The location is ideal and within easy walking distance of the town square, which features many restaurants, bars and shops. Also, the communication with the owner was excellent, and he came out to meet us with the keys upon our arrival. We could not have been happier with our experience with this apartment and would recommend it to others.

if you’re contemplating about booking… DO IT asap

Ok so first off literal blocks to downtown. You’re close enough to walk, far enough to not deal with the traffic or mess or people (aka noise). Also, driving distance is 10 minutes to wineries like Penman Springs, etc. Lyfts were also super easy to catch - my little sister went to dinner with us and then I sent her in a Lyft back to SLO. Lyft was there within a minute. The place was spotless but SO homey and probably the best stocked vrbo I’ve stayed at. I slept really well and where the bed is, the sun doesn’t get to or the shades were dim enough so it stayed dark to sleep in. The bed is also very comfortable! They have basic cable so our son was able to watch cartoons in the AM and we were able to binge some Lifetime movies in the evening. Doordash also delivered quickly when we got in late on Friday. Also the backyard is so well kept. We had breakfast at the small table while our son ran around in the yard. Ample space - we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. Just a fyi, there’s no door to the bedroom but it’s plenty far (likely 15 yards) from the living room where if your child or significant other was asleep in the room they wouldn’t hear anything. Seriously theee cutest place I’ve stayed at. This place makes me want to visit Paso more just to be hosted here! Hosts were very welcoming and flexible with arrival time - we didn’t have a set time since we were driving in.

Bruce greeted us upon arrival and gave us all of the information we needed. Huston's Attic was like staying in our own very nice apartment. We loved that it was in walking distance to tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops. The place was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with lots of pots, pans, utensils, spices and coffee. There was a BBQ out back but we didn't have time to use it. We will definitely try to stay here when we visit Paso Robles next time.
