Valen, the desk clerk when we checked in was excellent. The morning desk clerk with a mustache should look for a career where he does not interact with people.
My favorite kind of hotel - great sense of style and wonderful grounds and staff.

Hotel is very overpriced relative to other choices in SLO. Several add on charges such as $40.00 a night for parking plus a $30.00 service charge beyond what Expedia advertises. you get a $30.00 "food voucher" but that only buys one glass of wine with no redemption of balance. I have never stayed a place so uncertain of what it actially is.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cerro! Our room was very spacious, the rooftop pool was great and the onsite restaurant was quite good. My only complaint was charging me for drip coffee in the morning,$6 !! Honestly drip coffee at a hotel like this should be complimentary and ( in the hotel lobby) especially in the mornings… Overall we enjoyed our stay - conveniently located downtown and walking distance to many great spots!

bar restaurant by the pool not open despite front desk saying it’s “supposed to be open” - 3 days in a row. Found a contact lens in our bed, gross. Charged $40 for a soda and beer despite showing a $30 beverage free/card? Handed vouchers for free beverages but then told they were only for one certain type of drink? the motion sensor in the bathroom when you walk in the restroom bothersome as it wakes everyone up in the middle of the night and is a blaring light at 2am. The nightlight on the wall had to be covered up with a stack of chairs. Noise from a corner DJ on the street at 8:30am. Not the stay we recall. Disappointed this round. Lots of incremental charges on our bill and the amenities list feels like a bait and switch. Help us with something that will convince us to return.

I just discovered this hotel and it is terrific. Beautiful rooms well appointed with great amenities and the bed is very comfortable. The hotel is beautiful. I look forward to my next visit.
This property earned all of its stars. There was nothing that I could say was disappointing. As long as they keep this up, I would make it my regular stay any time my wife and I go to San Luis Obispo.
Loved the room, wish we could use the garden patio more - but rainy weekend - so enjoyed the inside fireplace instead.
Only issue was water seemed to flow from shower onto floor and same with soaking tub.
But overall Amazing experience - Loved the location and able to walk everywhere and room was lovely.
Horrendous noise issue .. Felt like we are staying in a loud dive bar. We were in room 211 and after calling the front desk we were told it should get better after 2 am.. Absolutely nuts how loud it was!

The rooms are well appointed with very nice toiletries. A great location to walkable restaurants and shops, with the Thursday's Farmer's Market right there.

A great hotel in a perfect location. It's very well decorated- trendy but cozy. I got the impression online that this was a small hotel, but it's actually quite large. Our room was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Bars, restaurants, and shopping are all literally a stones throw away.
The entire property was beautiful. Our room was modern and clean. The valet parking was very easy and convenient. The front desk and valet staff were all helpful and friendly. We especially liked having drinks at the end of the night at the restaurant downstairs. We look forward to our next stay at Hotel Cerro.
Stayed on the garden side this time and definitely found it to be much quieter!!
Should still request earplugs just to be safe, as the first night our neighbors below us were a bit loud out on their porch for about 1 1/2 hrs. Not too late, so not a big deal this time.
The room was very clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. There was a lot of noise late at night and early morning, seemed to be beeping and alarms. The staff is was ok. The valet staff was excellent. Overall the hotel was in an ideal location and clean.
This hotel is terrible. The service is awful, there are no managers on site at all, the restaurant is terrible, the rooms are tiny for almost 1K a night, it is noisy, valley parking is so expensive, there are excessive taxes that make no sense and we felt very unsafe. Avoid at all costs
