San Juan Island Holidays

With the continuation of the COVID-19 outbreak, travelling now comes with a few extra challenges. Make a note of these valuable tips before jumping on your plane to San Juan Island:

• Before you book a flight, find out if any travel restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Get up-to-date information by reviewing government websites.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to lower your mask temporarily for identification purposes.
• Instead of handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, place it directly on the reader yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• You can take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. You'll need to remove it for screening.
• Put any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and coins) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to handle and inspect your belongings.
