San Giuseppe Vesuviano Holidays from NZ$1,137

We took the bus from Amalfi up to Ravello/the last bus stop on the route and it was about a 10-minute (albeit uphill) walk from the bus stop to the hotel. Upon arrival, the man at the front desk was extremely welcoming throughout the entire check-in process. We noticed an ants problem in our original room but immediately got moved to another room once we notified the front desk. Breakfast is plentiful and had lots of options and it's hosted in their restaurant which has a beautiful view from the balcony. Pool has limited hours and limited seats, but nice if you can make it in. Showers have weak pressure but no other issues overall. Would love to stay again in the future.

Outstanding view of the sea and coast from the room, quiet and non-touristy, nice private beach.

Extremely uncomfortable bed with a plastic, wrinkled mattress cover. Inadequate poor quality blankets. Breakfast was ok but many items were processed and not fresh like juices and baked goods. Did not like the only available milk being pamalait lactose free. But very nice, friendly staff and intimate atmosphere. Beware as there are many many steps approx 200 to the private dock and most days there the water was too rough to contemplate getting in the water there. Pool is very small and I would categorize it as a dipping pool. Parking is tough in the area and expensive. We didn’t like the food in the whole area- very overpriced, heavy complicated tourist fare. In short food was a disappointment. Views from hotel are very nice (as expected). Probably an ok value of the all overpriced hotels in the area. Anywhere else I would give the hotel 2 stars and not stay there.

Staff made our stay feel like we were family. Unfortunately there was not too many places to 'hang out' as a group in the evening unless we wanted to be a part of the bar on the rooftop.

Excellent stay in Positano. Up near the top of the hill so a bit out of the heavy tourist area. But a relatively easy walk back up the road from the beach. Staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great! We stayed in a family room which was plenty big enough for the four of us. Lovely balcony as well.
