"I stayed at Hilton Financial District in San Francisco with my family of four. We arrived around midday, and I do appreciate that the staff accommodated an early check-in by 1:30 PM, which was helpful after travel.
However, I was quite surprised and disappointed to learn that our booking (made through Expedia) did not guarantee rooms on the same floor. As we were traveling with children, this was an important consideration for us. At check-in, we were informed that if we wanted rooms on the same floor, we would need to pay an additional fee.
This put us in a difficult position, and we felt compelled to pay extra to ensure our family could stay close together. It was frustrating, as this was not clearly communicated during the booking process, and it reduced the value of booking through Expedia.
Overall, while the staff were courteous, I would strongly recommend that families confirm room arrangements in advance and that the hotel (or booking platforms) be more transparent about such policies."
