I spent one night at Hotel One Salina Cruz and found it perfectly suited for a quick stopover—excellent for errands and grab‑and‑go meals—but don’t expect any walkable “town” charm. What worked for a one‑night stay: • Seamless access to big‑box shopping: The hotel is built right into Pabellón Salina Cruz, adjacent to the Galerías del Istmo mall, so you step out the door into a cluster of stores including a Liverpool department store (opened in 2012) • Nearby supermarket: A full‑size Walmart Supercenter is just off the Transístmica highway (MEX‑185), open daily from 7 AM to 11 PM—ideal if you need last‑minute snacks or supplies • Quick, casual eats: On the same plaza you’ll find a Domino’s Pizza branch for fast delivery or carry‑out, and a Toks Restaurante offering sit‑down Mexican comfort food . • Easy highway & industrial‑area reach: With the Pemex refinery five minutes away, and direct highway access, you can be on the road or back at the port in no time What to keep in mind: • Not downtown: The historic center and beachfront of Salina Cruz are about a 10‑minute drive away—too far to walk, and rideshares run roughly MXN 200 one‑way. • Car or shuttle required: Unless you plan only to shop at the mall, you’ll need a car (or the hotel’s shuttle/taxi service) to explore local sights or the town proper.
